Hi everyone,
Lowesy I am so sorry for your loss, be kind to yourself and let yourself recover - I thought that I was fine after mine (a long time ago) but after 6 months, when I really was fine I looked back and saw what a basket case I'd been (panic attacks etc) it would have been far better if I'd accepted that I needed time to grieve rather than putting on a brave face.
NPM and Bitsy, I am full of admiration for you both coping with what you do, there are so many people on this board who are positive about their problems, it's certainly helped to put things into perspective for me.
Talking of which, I am currently trying to look on the bright side of being called back for further tests after my mammogram. I'm sure it will be nothing but I'd appreciate it if some of you have been through the same experience and can let me know how it went.
OS I've been a bit lax this week, apart from stretching the rubber chickens from M & S. Did anyone else notice that the three for £10 offer chickens were different sizes. I went through the lot and got the three heaviest which would have been £14.29 full price but I saw some at £3.50 which would have only given you a saving of 50p on the offer. I also used OH's discount so I got 3 for £8, it would have been less but I took the wrong £5 off a £25 shop voucher grr.
I must look in on the flylady thread to see what I need to do this weekend. I've had some long evening meetings this week - in 2 days I'd done 3 days worth of hours.
Sorry for the missive.0 -
Sorry I've been absent a bit - busy doing stuff!
I've had a look at today's news - note to self; write stuff down as I've forgotten most of what I've read!.
I'm sending big hugs to Lowesy and DH; take your time and allow yourself to grieve; much better to let it all out now than try to ignore your feelings and store up problems for the future. Time is a great healer.
Bitsy, how did your lo sleep last night (sorry if you've already said - memory isn't one of my strong points!)? DS went down lovely in his 'big boy bed (cot without the bars) and went straight to sleep but was up at 3.00 screaming the place down and saying 'no way' was he going to bed. Took 30 mins to get him back to sleep and DH did it in the end. So hard isn't it.
Diva, I'm sorry but I don't know who Tris and Michelle are, but wishing them a speedy recovery.
LW, Mr LW sounds very good to help with dinner last night. DHs can come in quite useful sometimes can't they! Hope you recovered from your early start OK today.
Great excitement here as my 'Thrifty Ways' book written by Martin Lewis arrived yesterday and I've just paid for an EasyYo yogurt maker on ebay as I want to start making yogurt. I'm really enjoying the OS way of doing things and have been happily going around the kitchen earlier spraying work surfaces / tables etc with my mixture of Star Drops, white vinegar and water!
I hope to do some knitting later as doing a jumper for DS, I don't feel guilty about watching TV if I'm knitting at the same timeFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
snoozer try not to stress too much, often you get called back for all sorts of reasons. PM me if you want to have any more info.
Today all went well with the school run then I went off to see my lovely MLD therapist. He is really nice, and an hours massage on my arm is such a treat. He told me he is going to see if he can get funding from my Dr. and the PCT to help pay for it. At the moment if I lived 5 miles down the road it would be free, and its not something that will ever go away or I won't need treatment for.
He is such a nice chap, and is all for ladies getting our treatment given as a right, and not because of where you live.
Tonight I am unexpectedly going to the local theatre to see 'Gaslight'.One of the ladies in my craft class is in it, and another lady phoned and said she had a bunch of tickets, and did I want to go.So straight away I said yes,it beats sitting indoors watching rubbish on the t.v. I love live theatre ,even am-dram.:D
So tonight's dinner will be a quick shepards pie from the freezer with some veggies, and I will be gallivanting off with my gang of fellow crafters.:D
Tomorrow after the school run I have the dentists for a filling, then History class in the afternoon.
Saturday of course, all being that our trains are working o.k. I shall be jaunting off to London for the lunchtime Meet in Whitehall. Then in the evening I am driving over to my sis-in-laws as her DD has the keys to her house, and the furniture in going in on Friday, and she and the two little girls are moving in on Sunday. She has had such an awful year bless her losing her OH and home and everything that I will be so pleased for her when she gets settled in at last.
Well time I got a wriggle on,hope eveyone has had a good day ,another week gone from January its such a loooong month and seems so dreary at times.
Take care all

Crikey Csarina, that's pricey! How many do you get for that? Are they like tea-chests? Maybe they would consider buying them back from you? Have to say it sounds like you & OH are "all systems go" for your move :T
Love Floss x
4 of the boxes are the large wardrobe ones.... they are expensive almost £40 on their own. No idea about the other ones, will have to wait until they arrive tomorrow, afraid they are going to have to go in the garage.
The movers will only give us credit for ones we empty while they are there, so I know there will not be many going back. I will try and sell them on if I can.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Evening all
I had a lovely day shopping in Cardiff. I bought a new handbag (£15 from H&M), some Molton Brown hand lotion (free cos I had a voucher for Xmas plus got a mini handwash free) and some slipper socks reduced to £3 in the sale in DP's. So didn't spend too much
specsappeal - I'm eating a bowl of your lentil&carrot soup at the mo! It's deliciousNeeded something to warm me up after the walk back from train station in the rain. I've frozen the rest to use another day, but the recipe now lives on my fridge with my other soup ones!
thanks again.
Not much OS wise planned for tonight. I bought a reduced pack of mash in Tesco for 15p yesterday so will have that and something. I have lots of eggs to use up so may have omelette too. I never by the prepared mash but I figured for 15p it was good value!
I'm off again tomorrow and have made a list of boring thing I need to do so will keep that with me to add to if needed, but otherwise it's me and the sofa and tv tonight
Have a good evening all

Trust me I've not coped very well this week :rotfl:
As for your mammogram I don't have any advice but I can see why it's easy to think worst case scenario - had that myself when several years ago I found a lump in my breast. Just try and remember that a) it is probably nothing and b) if it was something then at least you are looking into it early rather than pretending it will go away on it's own. Hugs to you xxBitsy, how did your lo sleep last night (sorry if you've already said - memory isn't one of my strong points!)? DS slept OK until 5.30 and then it was action stations (where is the "rolls eyes smilie?)
DD was up for a couple of hours from 4am.......
Bless your DS saying "no way" - yep it is hard. I hope your DS has a better night in his big boy bed for you tonight x
I hope this works out it's the first time I've tried using the multi quote functionI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Bitsy - hugs to you. Personally I think a "label" is a good thing, as like you say, it seems to get you more of the help and support you need. Not saying thats right, but thats how it seems to be. My son is dyslexic (although funnily enough when they finally statemented him they wouldn't put dyslexic as they don't like to label!!!!) and I had a real battle to get him the help he needed, which finally resulted in him getting statemented in his last year of primary school (and I had been fighting since the first year!). Since the statement he has had a lot more positive help, and not experienced any negativity so far.
Busy day at work dealing with a prisoner. Trying not to take too much work with me into next department, but still got lots of paperwork to shift, and tomorrow to go. Will probably get given a right stinker tomorrow!!
Kids tea was beans on toast - at their request! Quick and extremely simple. I've had a bowl of cereal, even easier! Not exactly fabulous home cooking, but is not an every night occurrence and don't think it hurts every now and again.
Am currently shouting at kids to go in the shower - why do they object so much to being clean? :rotfl:0 -
Hi all,
Just a quick reply to say thank you for thinking of us.
The hospital have been unable to schedule my erpc until next Thursday. Gotta love that. Leave me in even more turmoil for another week. DH is currently looking to see if there's a way we can get Bupa to do it instead, hardly moneysaving but if it means I can get this over with sooner rather than later so be it.
Hugs to all xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,
What you've been out there searching for forever is in your hands0 -
Lowesy hugs to you both, I am so sorry for what you are having to go through.
Bitsy Hugs hun but you already knew deep down:oit does take time to come to terms with it. DS was only 2 when diagnosed as he was severe and i guess it was obvious to the experts what was wrong with him. I have shed many tears in the 4 and a half years since then. As i have said before make sure you and DH talk about it together and stay close and help each other through the hard times....the voice of experience:o:cool:. The book should be with you any day now and do PM me for support or help. Just remember the diagnosis hasnt altered anything about him...you just have a name and reason for his behaviour
I am getting to my wits end with DS:mad:. its not him I am angry with its the autism:(.
He is not sleeping much at all and talking ten to the dozen all the time. He is very angry a lot of the time but I dont know why. He constantly snaps at us and screams and shouts in our faces, slamming doors etc and kicking out.
I just don`t know what we are going to do, I am now at a loss and it is really depressing me. OH and I are getting no time on our own to relax.
NicLou I hope you feel better soon x0
