Hi, Thanks for the birthday wishes for yesterday. Hugs for those who need them.

I have read all your posts but short term memory probs mean I need to go back and read again.

We had a lovely made up dinner last night of white sauce (HM) plus, added vegetables and chopped up, left over, Christmas meat. Added some pasta and it was yummy. For b'day ud we raided the cupboards and freezer. Some had ancient choc ices and DD made me a mini sponge flan with broken up meringueon top with cherries in Kirsch and lychees. Yummy!

I hope Lowesy is okay, hugs and prayers.

    Hi All

Hope you are all ok today.

Hugs to MSD for Tris and Michelle.
Hope you had a lovely birthday Poohbear

Not much OS for me today - we had toad in the hole for tea last night which the little one loves - and it was very yummy - but tonight we are having M&S chicken breasts.....:D

I fell down the stairs outside the house this morning on the way to work and really hur my legs, nothing serious, but bloomin sore - and I cried like a big girl :o so my M&S dinner will cheer me up!

floss That is a brilliant idea. I have problems chopping, mixing etc and usually have to get help from someone.

I do use my food processor to grate vegetables to make soups etc. but I had never thought of chopping a load of onions to put in freezer. We do seem to have onions in every meal.

We have some whoopsie gammon and cauliflower cheese with jacket potatoes for tonights dinner. I can't wait until I can get somewhere near my vegetable patch as I still have potatoes, carrots and kale.

The snow is still over a foot deep in the gardens.

    Afternoon everyone.
No snow or sleet here but was very foggy first thing. Now just dull and grey - roll on spring. I like winter up and until Christmas (as i think I just associate the two together) but once it's all over with I am gearing up for the sunnier weather.

Had a review with DS's speech therapist this morning. They have officially diagnosed him as being on autistic spectrum. Not a total suprise since they'd mentioned him having traits at the last assessment but I waver between being OK about it (as I am actually a bit relieved to have some sort of diagnosis - I work better if I know what I am dealing with. I don't "do" vague) to wanting to have a cry about it all :o Ho hum onwards and upwards - I think me and H need some time to sit and digest all the info they've given us (got a book and they're going to refer us to the local support groups) and then just carry on as normal. He's still our little boy and this diagnosis doesn't change that.

OS wise well not a fat lot, woke up with a bagning headache as DD was up from 4am to 6am and then I had a little lie in. I've got friends and their kids coming round after school so the OS then will be clearing up the devastation :rotfl:
No idea what's for tea - think a makeshift or something quick from the freezer is what I fancy, especially if headache lingers for the rest of the afternoon.

Lowesy - Still thinking of you and your H xx

Nic1 - take it easy and I hope you haven't got an infection xx

Jo - OUCH! No shame in having a cry when you hurt yourself ;)

Stefejb - Hope it all gets sorted for your DD - stress is not something you need when you are 8 months pregnant (not to mention camping out on a sofa!).

Specsappeal - :rotfl: at your impromptu sleep. You obviously needed it!

Am sure there are others I should have mentioned but brain not functioning properly :o

Have a good day OS or not. Hugs to those that need it.

    Afternoon everyone.

Lowsey Big hugs for you both xx

Bitsy Take your time & let the diagnosis sink in. I always do better knowing what I'm dealing with but can understand how it was a shock to suddenly have a 'label' put on your DS. ((hugs)).

xxJoxx Ouch! Hope it's better soon.

NicLou Hope you feel better soon. Don't hesitate in going back to your GP or the hospital if you get worse :naughty::)

I have only just got up & ready as I spent the night and most of the morning with a vile migraine. I have laid in a dark room trying my best & failing not to be sick. The painful throbbing has gone now and so has the sickness so hopefully I'll be ok.

Dinner tonight will be baked potatoes I think. Not on the menu list but it's all I'll be able to cope with :o No idea what DH did for breakfasts or his lunch!

Have a good rest of the day all.

Bitsy (((hugs))) I've been in your position - a good few years ago now as my DS2 is nearly 18 but I do appreciate the range of emotions you are feeling. I was relieved to find out that there was actually something wrong and that it wasn't just us being poor parents. x x x

Diva, thoughts and prayers for Tris and Michelle. Hope they're both on the mend soon.

Ok, for me today, just a bit lot of tidying, sorting out washing and a tad of cleaning, Got this afternoon to knit a little more ,then I'll have a shower and get sorted later - am taking OH out on a money neutral meal, then meeting a few friends down the pub hopefully.

I quite agree with you Taplady. the upshot is as he's been formally diagnosed we have access to all the support rather than some families that don't get a diagnosis and are left floundering in the dark a little.
My mum has taken it quite hard - she thinks he's perfect in every way (which of course he is ;)) but she's worried that it's a label and not a positive one at that. I am sure she just needs some time to get used to it all. Nothings different in reality - life goes on.......

LW, do you have a food processor? I can now boast pretty good knife skills thanks to lessons from OH (:p) but prior to that I always used to chop a huge batch of onions in the food processor & freeze them on a tray and then put in a big bag, so I could grab a handful or two when needed. Stops the tears as well, unless you are leaning over the top when you take the lid off!
Yes I do have a food processor, and an onion dicer, either of which are easy enough for me; but bless him, he offered, and I think his feelings would've been hurt if I'd said "No thanks".:A Could even be that he realises he's been acting like a jerk - no, that's not fair, - not being terribly thoughtful just lately.;)

I don't currently have any room for another bag of stuff in the freezer, but will keep it in mind for when I have some space.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
