The co-op run savings accounts alongside the cashminder account, I think its called something saver, I can move money between them online instantly which I found really useful for taking out the yearly budget from the monthly budget stuff?
Thank you for that info.. I went into the Co-op yesterday to open the Cashminder account so am waiting for them to get back to me. PayPlan have sent me the money they want to pay to the loans etc monthly and have allowed for this and that per month that I won't spend unless things break and I was wondering if that meant I had to take the money out and keep it at home or the creditors would want it if it built up. At first I thought the allowance was generous, but giving it thought the fact that the allowance is to cover for everything going up over the 4 years to pay the debts, it makes sense. Luckily my Council Tax for 2010 - 2011 has been frozen, probably because of the Election, but Gas, Electric, food, Rent etc will be going up and pay rise is meant to be frozen this year despite the tax going up come April. If the creditors agree to the PayPlan option then I would be better off than I am now since one of my loans is for the length of the PayPlan option, it would just mean the others, that would finish earlier would take longer. Going back to paying for everything with cash will be good for me. Certainly makes you think what you are going to spend things on, unlike the past 25 years of spend, spend, spend. Think I will be joining the DMP crowd as soon as I here from the Co-op.
If over the span of the DMP you get a small lump sum of money what happens to it, is it yours or do you pay it to the DMP?Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -
Hi Gibbs,
Glad you are getting it sorted, Co-op are quite quick so you will be up and running in no time. Glad someone else has been doing the spending salsa for as long as us? I had fun at the time, but worried now about been in deep penury when I am an old retired lady, or worse still wheeching around Scotland with a zimmer and 10 pairs of specs still trying to pay the b#@@*& debts and work out how to use a trolley in Aldi!!More than Two Years in

If PP are right and it takes just the 4 years. Then my retirement just after, is looking rosy. Lucky enough to have a frozen 23 year Civil Service pension and a 22 year Final Salary pension waiting for me. Granted my State pension won't arrive until I'm 64 and a bit now.:j Off to do the ironing to Spurs v Bolton.Paddle No 21 :wave:0

Happy Valentine's Day! :heartsmil
My internet has a minor meltdown on Friday eve and I've only just got it back up and running!
Thanks so much for all the tips on token payment letter, think I will just fudge something together, quoting my CCCS ref and see what happens! Currently surrounded my lots of letters ready to sort out!
Nothing major to report, just a letter from Next (my smallest creditor) saying that my 'query was receiving attention'...at least its something!
Got my CCCS online p/w :j
Losing - so pleased you've told OH, I'm sure he's just in shock but at least you can work this through together. I had tears in my eyes reading that you'd thought of suicide, it breaks my heart people are driven to those thoughts (me included). Just remember you've realised you've a problem, are going to deal with it about come out better on the other side....And remember WE'RE all here to support you xxx

Gibbs be great to have you join us on our mad DMP journey. I suppose its up to you really, but if its a sizebale amount, might be good idea to put it towards the dmp, that way you get rid of debts quicker. Just remember that any money has to be divided pro-rata between creditors.

Letter's all done!...It is tricky trying to find the right address to send them to, some of these banks have so many!!...I shall be checking my account closing to see who banks the cheque first!
I did just phone up Nationwide re the default on my overdraft, phoned the number listed under 'collections dept'...explained to the 'boy' on the phone I was entering DMP with CCCS etc. and hadn't heard anything. First he said he didn't understand (!!!!!!!) and then that I needed to speak to the Collections Dept (who only work Mon-Fri, 8-5!!), and the the phone number he gave me was for the one I just rang!!....god helps us!:eek:

Looks like were all having a peaceful day

Gibbs, the co-op are super efficient and you'll have an account up and running in next to no time.
Ted & mamajojo - i'm thinking of opening a Yorkshire Readycash account, i hear they are pretty easy to get with DMP. I'm trying my luck with NatWest at the mo as i've no debt with them, so here's hoping they say yes to a basic account. If not, then i'll try the Yorkshire Bank. And thank you both for the kind words. I can only ignore those kind of letters because of the support of family and this board
.
Really happy right now, as i've done the ironing and tidied the house :T.
I've my 1st ever Mystery Shop booked for tomorrow . I've done online mystery shopping and a few telephone calls but never this....arggghhh! I'm sooo nervous. Well, it's a few extra shekels in me pocket so i'll get over the nerves, i'm sure :rotfl:
