Blimey its like a ghost ship in here today

Rhian I dont think any of mine mentioned the DMP either. The best is when you get the computer generated default letters, they dont even acknowledge anything, expect that you've missed payments. Most of the the stuff they send you is pointless.

    Some new title ideas

"we've started so we''ll finish... part two"
    "trolley dash to debt freedom"
    "ready steady go...to our DFD"

    Bit naff I know :)
    Debt at LBM - £11,505
    Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013

    Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£450
  • Hi all, had a really good day today, 3 out of 4 of my creditors have accepted my DMP and the fourth (RBS:o) just hasn't made a decision yet so am still hopeful:j Best of all Halifax were REALLY nice with me:eek: very understanding and they've reduced the interest to 1% and stopped all charges for 12 months:T . Also got Scottish Power to freeze an increase in my payments until my DMP is properly underway to give me time to budget, feeling very positive now, thanks very much everyone :A

Well it's been a while since I came on here last but my salary went into my new bank account today so PayPlan have contacted HSBC (my old bank) to give them the good news!
Been stressing all weekend worrying about my salary going into the new account and feel a lot happier now!
Had 2 standard letters so far from Santander and Halifax stating I 'did not meet the minimum payment blah blah blah' even though my token payments went in successfully.
So I have started my DMP let the fun begin!

Well done Jeddy - to me it was a relief when it all finally started.

What happens at the stage when some companies have accepted the DMP and some haven't yet? Do you pay the DMP amounts to those, and carry on with tokens to the rest until they agree? Or just start paying everyone the full DMP amount after a couple of months of tokens?

Start paying everyone the full DMP amount at the same time, as the DMP saying goes.... 'they can't have what you don't have'

So as soon as the first company agrees to it, start paying them all?

Evening ladies, well into token payments now and all strangely quiet, had a few days of strange phone calls, these have passed.
Spoke to BoS today they continue to be a delight, all accounts frozen for a month until DMP starts. MBNA the same, just waiting on Citi and Egg.
Maybe the new government stuff on helping out those in debt has had an influence or maybe I am tempting fate, but HBOS don't have a great reputation (not in Lloyds league) but both Haddock and I seem to have been treated well..................so far, long may it continue.
LBM Jan 2010. DFD 2016.
    Paddle No. 5.
    Debt at DMP start (May 1st '10) £54.9k, as of 1st Oct '11 £33.2k. 40% cleared.
    (3 F & Fs down, 5 to go!) :T

As soon as your ready, start paying them all the DMP amounts, none of mine agreed until after I'd started DMP and some still haven't

I take it your doing your own and not with CCCS/Payplan?

No, we're with National Debtline, but it takes a bit longer at the beginning as they allocate it to CCCS or Payplan. They've been really good with us though so it works well for us to go this route, just a little in limbo at the start! I think we'll do two months of token payments and then go for it - the car needs MOT/service/tax so the extra money from only doing tokens is very very useful!
