Agh yes at price of petrol, we only got a car last May (which means all the bills are about to hit!) and I can't believe how much the cost has gone up in that time.
However it does force us to use it as little as possible. We lived without a car for years, DH had to get one for his job but it's surprising how much you end up using it for little non-work things. We tend to be big on environmental stuff (which often ends up cheaper, yay!) so I guess the cost is an extra encouragement to not use the car!0 -
Oh Id love to live without the car, but we're an hours bus journey from town and 2 hours from grandparents. Not fun at all with two ickle kiddies. And to be honest, the price of ours buses is so high that it kinda evens out. Just wish they start taxing someone else more than us poor car users.
**Cue mega rant** why oh why oh why oh why oh why do the darn clocks have to change. We've just got our 9mth old son onto a fairly ok bedtime routine, tonight however, total disaster. His room is so light even with blackouts, he took one look at me leaving and howled. **Rant over**Debt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -
I'm with you on the clocks - not so bad for us this time but we had a nightmare when the clocks went back. DS went from sleeping till seven to waking up at four!
I hate buses (travel sickness - but that applies to cars as well!) so I'm definitely with you on wanting to avoid them. We're lucky in that we've always lived in places with good local transport or where things are walkable - we're about 40 minutes walk from town now which is actually a nice walk, and I've only got one kid which makes it easier! And for a while now we've hired cars (before we got one) to visit our parents as they're the other side of the country, plus public transport where they are is completely useless!0 -
