    Afternoon All

Ah well the budget has truely b####### itself now. Something wrong with DH's car, estimate around £200:eek:, dear doggy has got bad rash, take him to vets, he's got a bacterial infection, needs very strong antibiotics:eek::eek::eek: and special very strong shampoo:eek::eek::eek:£69.00 please!!! oh and this stuff might not clear it up, so it will be ongoing probably:eek::eek:. He is insured but there is a £50 excess and I have to pay all the money then claim it back, good job I had the emergency fund, notice the word "had".
    happy Saturday:D

You off that sofa yet True?
Mama don't make the trip its a lot of money, good suggestion of Ted's, invite them and let them incur the expense, then you're in the good books and not too much out of pocket.
Nat good news about the benefits, why do they make you jump through all those hoops to get it though? I am fairly sure some members of society don't have to jump quite as high, I'm thinking of people in London living in £2 million houses on the state..............;)

By the way, I am on the sofa too, recovering from the trip away

I haven't got my head quite around the CCA stuff, but isn't it a bit like being statute barred where if you make a payment then you are acknowledging the debt? Like if the CCA is faulty and you make payments to it, would that count as acceptance of the agreement IYSWIM?

  • Yes, I am interested in this CCA thing, just wrestling with the moral side of it at the moment, we got into the debt and should pay it back and all that.................?????
LBM Jan 2010. DFD 2016.

Me too.... I'm more than happy to pay the ones that don't give me too much hassle, after all it's me that got into this situation, but I'm thinking of this route maybe for those that are harassing and sticking excess charges on - aka Crapone and Lloyds

    Morning Everyone
Dh is off to boot sale...and little people had us up so early, no respect time and going to bed late and clocks going forward!
I'm thinking the CCA is maybe something we need so we know where we stand incase we were ever to need to know if it was enforceable in court. If that makes sense!
Next seem not to have them when they are sending out new CCAs to sign when starting DMPs.
True - I'm just don't know about the statute barred comparrison, I've only just started reading around it - and there's lots of good advice on the forum but I haven't a clue!:D
Right must make breakfast for the the destruction trio, the paracetamol have worked and my head is no longer throbbing!:shocked:Much too much bargain wine last night. But good to be normal and not have conversations while you're heads just thinking money probs!

    Have a lovely day!

I think the statute barred thing is when you have not acknowledged the debt for 5 years in Scotland and 6 in England. I think it applies to those people who tend to move a lot and have lost touch with creditors etc, I'm afraid in that respect we're all truly b####### as we have been and are paying so we are acknowledging the debt, unless anyone feels they could hide for the next 5/6 years?? Let me know where/how and I'll come too.
The CCA thing is is to d with wether or not they have a proper signed agreement, if they don't I think you don't have to pay it but they will still try to get you to, so mainly I see it as a way to get a cheaper full and final. Prof this sits better with the paying back what we owe as you will be just less some of the huge amounts of interest they have added on. Have I got this right or am I away with the fairies???
