I have used a mobile hairdresser for years, shes a mate so I go to her house or her to mine, whatever suits on the day. I kneel down beside the bath and she washes my hair using a shower attachment, BUT if I wash and dry it that morning she straightens, then cuts and just charges for a dry cut, a tenner!! :TPaddle no. 12

Yay for the weekend!
Now to get through it without spending too much money… Have to get some essentials from Sainsbury's later but I think that's the limit of my extravagance.0 -
Hi all:A
Hope you've all a sunny day...garage is empty and being frisked for car boot fodder...hopefully it'll be suny tomorrow and dh will sell enough for a new tyre!
Nataz...know what you mean about no time, little people seem to just eat it! Thats great news about DLA for DS:j
dmb I'll have words with egg when I phone on monday.....I have heard nothing but same as you interest going on.
:rotfl:fringe haircuts...mine are sooo bad...I have friend who is a mobile hairdresser she's 20 for a cut though!!! Then I cut the children's and dh! Poor dd she gets the bad fringe too and I use the sheep sherer things on dh and ds, other ds is going for surfer look and carries it very well being 2 and cute...everyone calls him a girl though, drives dh mad especially when he dresses up in dd old fairy clothes:rotfl:
Family causing grief, SIL asked everyone to go to her house...in 2 weeks for our neices bd, late notice, 400 mile round trip and would need overnight in hotel and need two rooms cos of 3 children....so would cost about 350 before anything else added in......dh said no straight away, we're on a tight budget(family don't know about dmp) there's no way we can find that sort of money...but getting pressure still. What do you do?
True - sorry to hear your course was cancelled....sorry didn't say it b4!

Morning all!
Great news on the DLA Nat, thats a fantastic amount of extra income!!
I've given up on getting my hair cut, just tell people I'm growing it, and I dye it myself - only £4 for a pot every 6 weeks so tons cheaper than the £45 every 4 weeks I used to pay!!
Must go and get coffee, just woken up and feeling rather groggy....speak later xxPaddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
Morning True, will leave you to come round a bit whilst you get your caffeine fix.
Hi Mama, Oh No re the late invite from SIL... it's hard when you say No and people don't listen... is a trevel lodge an option or is there a youth hostel near them...you can get 5-6 bed rooms so not paying for two...petrol will still cost you a lot though...could you say you can't make it but invite them over to you say, next month to celebrate? Don't know what else to suggest....
I'm on the third mug and its not working!! Maybe because I'm still in bed....
Mama I think you're going to have to stick to your guns, I mean £350 is a lot of money. I think Teds idea of inviting them to come to you is a good one though.Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -

Good plan Teds, I will do that - it shows we are willing but not able! It was a travel lodge I'd looked at! Lots of dosh as late minute and a popular location too. Thanks for tip re youth hostel, will look into that...
You'd be proud of me - just got a -red you are bad -statement from next, even though they've accepted and want 38p less than cccs payment! Phoned straight away, and very nice young man - sounded 14, said they account would be reset my account when the cccs cheque cleared!? They had 33000 cccs dmp clients on one cheque? Could that be right? Do you think he can read big numbers yet???:rotfl:
Oh to be in bed on the third cup of coffee! I was up at 5 waiting to hear the bolier kick in! It did:DDMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -
