I have a diary thread open here also http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=29244505#post29244505

Glad to join everyone, i have my shiny-new overdraft free Barclays account (dont owe them anything).

I have sent tokens on Friday, and first 'normal' payments were due today, now cancelled direct debits.

Hope to get welcome pack and pay CCCS by end of February and make first payment to CCCS on the 1st March.

Creditors are (in order of size of debt) Tesco, Northern Rock, Halifax, Virgin, Lloyds, Next - hope they are all good.

    Dear Nonnynonny

I think we all own part of Northern Rock, don't we? So you shouldn't have to pay the bit that you own, and you can have my bit, too.;)

    Morning all.

Two more acceptance letters this morning, one from Natwest O/D and the other John Lewis CC. Both say they'll freeze interest and charges and review in 12 mths. Cool!

Re payments to CCCS you can actually choose to have the direct debit taken out on the 10th month, its just the first payment that they need by the 1st month. Just ask for that when you set up your direct debit. Our pay doesnt come in until the 5th so any earlier than that would have been very tricky.

Glad to hear peoples phones have been quiet, hopefully it'll start to settle down a bit once the acceptances come through.

VicB dont know about statements, I guess we probably will get them but I could be wrong. Although would be nice to never see one again :rotfl:lol!!

Im quite pleased with myself today. Just sat down and worked out all the spending etc for Jan, and we have managed to not only stay within our budgets but we saved around £60. Didnt do as well as I thought on food/general shopping etc but at least we didnt go over the budget. So Im going to give myself a big :money:Heres to more money saving in Feb!!

Morning everyone and a special  to the new guys.

@ Nataz - nice one! Wish my budgeting skills were as good. Good result with Natwest and JL.

@ Jayce - sorry, had to laugh at the employment agency getting your calls :rotfl:, if only they'd get your debt letters too, huh? :D.

Still no acceptance letters from any creditors, feel like i've got the lurgies :P. Just a few short weeks ago i was inundated with demand letters for payment, now they've forgotten where i live :rotfl:

I get paid this week and can't wait to make the 1st payment which is due by the 10th. And i've also sent off the direct debit mandate so that'll be set up in time for March :T. Still waiting for the password to allow access to the CCCS website though .

Thanks New Beginning, was unsure if you had to pay a few days before to get it there by the 1st, trying to fit it in with pay day!

I'm about to ring CCCS as I think I'll be going onto weekly pay at the end of April which I know seems ages off but am concerned that I will be able to pay 1st March and 1st April payment but then won't have the monthly salary to pay 1st May until I can save up my weekly amounts...if that makes any sense at all???

Morning All, hope today is a good one :)

Hi, Sorry I seem to have got it wrong, my email from CCCS says ...

We will now activate your plan with a start date of February 1st, but you will have up until the 10th of February to make your first payment.

And after that you can set the Direct Debit to go out on any date.

Just question, when you phone back the CCCS re your DMP, do you ask to speak to the same person or do you speak to whoever answers and they can tell from your file where you've got up to so far?

From experience, you can speak to whoever answers your call about your file :), with each person you speak to as lovely as the last :D.

Happy to report JD Williams have agreed to accept a reduced payment and charges are to be suspended :T. One down, only 7 more to go

I've a £10 Tesco voucher winging it's way to me after completing a bunch of online surveys :T. Happy days :D

Great news on stress-free weekend girlypink...long may it continue! :)

It is really annoying (and incompetent!) that the CC company depts don't talk to each other, I know a lot of these letters are auto generated (I've even be told that by them!) but it is frustrating...and a waste of paper! ;)

Just a quick Q and I kinda know the answer but just want to double check - I'm assuming even though you're on a DMP you still get statements from each creditor every month? As per usual?

    Thanks

i think most of them do send you statements still cos from other threads it seems people find out that interest has been stopped from their statements sent so i am expecting my usual monthly statements from everyone.

Thanks Ted :o we wont forget about you, will probably still be panicing about something in April lol and we will be able to help you more too by then once we're all up and running.

Has anyone found Aldi any cheaper than other stores? ive been in ours twice and nothing seems that cheap really to me?

    Afternoon! Nearly home time :j

Quick question, I've been reading various thread and am I correct in thinking - should my creditors (booo!) put me down as default/arrangement on my credit file no...will this come off completely in 6 yrs?

I should be a DFW (Hurrah!) in 6 yrs so will these defaults/arrangements come off then OR will it be 6yrs after the balances have been paid off?

....apologies of that makes NO sense :o:o But any help much appreciated.

I am pretty sure that it is 6 years from the default being issued. I hope so anyway, as my DFD should be in 5 years (can't wait to change my user name to Ihavegotoutofdebt :D).
