Starting my DMP on 1st Feb... Anyone want to join me?

  • Well DMPers Amex update

Received a letter yesterday from a company called RMA Resolve saying that they will be chasing my Amex debt. Phoned them this morning and not a very satisfactory conversation. They tried to get me to "pay missing payments" - I haven't actually missed a payment and paid the full minimum in January. RMA didn't know this because Amex hadn't told them, so what do I do now. "Oh, well I need a payment." I told them I have a DMP with CCCS, oh right she says, just let them know about us....... In keeping with all the good advice from here, I gave her the number and asked for them to confirm in writing that they had it and would deal with CCCS. We just note it on our system where we keep all our info (including al the wrong info I presume?) Sorry folks this really frustrates me, careless transfer of information and a dire lack of communication doesn't help anyone and if they can't get the simple things right, why should I believe that they can work out proper compound interest, which I have been paying them for years??

    OK rant over

    Yeah its the WEEKEND :j

Wouldnt it be lovely if someone could run our lives for just a week... ah bliss! I have to agree with coffee-break CCCS are brill. I feel like I have paid of all my debt already, just knowing someone is there to hold my hand has taken all the worry and agnst away.

Although I got a big scare this morning. A letter from Barclays arrived with huge red writing demanding money, thought hang on a minute I dont owe you anything. The stupid thing wasnt even for me, its was the people who lived here before. Guess they havent changed their address doh! :rotfl:

    Morning All!

Thanks for the advice, onwards and upwards, feeling more positive today (it might be the sunshine :) )

Got a letter from CCCS today, they've contacted all creditors (sent details to them on Monday so super efficient!) and what had been offered - have to say, some of the payment aren't too far off the minimum payments each month, so HOPEFULLY none of the have major problems....although this may just be wishful thinking ;)

In the process of removing my home number from all creditor accounts, can't deals with calls at home, mobile fine but not at home.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :j:beer:

  • Afternoon peeps

I want to jump under my duvet and go back to bed... but the housework won't do itself :(.

Got a scary letter myself this morning from Credit Solutions threatening to send someone round. Even though i know it's only scare-tactics, it still shook me up a little. Can't face making any calls today... i'll phone them 1st thing Monday morning.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone and have a great weekend .

  • tedsd, they're handling the debt collection for my BT account. The letterhead is printed 'Power2Contact' but the body of the letter says i should contact Credit Solutions Ltd. I'm sure it's the same company, but i'll check with BT on Monday. You mentioned about staying rational... since my family found out about my debts, it's been a bit of a relief to be honest :o. I was desperately struggling to work things out alone, but now that my 'secret' is out in the open, i'm not as jittery as i once was. I had a wobbly moment earlier :D but with the support of my family and CCCS i'm facing up to things now :o.

:D I'm lethal with shopping trolley's, if it can't fit in a basket it stays on the shelf :rotfl:. If you're starting an Aldi trolley challenge PDD, i'm in :D.

Have you picked up the parcel?????? Hoping it turned out to be ok....

I have thank-you. It turned out to be something completely unrelated to my DMP :j So I was able to relax afterwards and went sledging with my wee girl :D.

No letters arrived for me today, and my creditors appear to have stopped phoning. I have still to hear from Marbles, Mint, Tesco and (of course) Egg as to whether they are accepting or not, but I am taking their silence as a good sign.

Am away to read the rest of the thread now and catch up with where everyone else is at.

Maybe the Aldi trolley is a test, do we know anyone who actually knows what to do or do the checkout operators just make it up as they go???

Just a quickie from me to say :hello: and now off to do some more work on the bathroom! Should be finished early next week so normal service will resume and I'll have time to figure out the Aldi trolley test :rotfl:!!
