Have just received my letter and creditor's letters from CCCS so all I need now is a few stamps and we're on our way. I'm feeling a bit nervous about all of the phone calls and scary letters, but luckily enough, I have a work mobile so I can just switch my personal mobile off during the day. My husband works nights though and has to sleep during the day so I'll unplug the phone and tell him to switch off his mobile when he goes to bed, he'll get no sleep otherwise! It's such a relief to actually be doing something positive, rather than just sitting worrying and doing frantic mental calculations trying to work out how we're going to pay the bills this month. Just putting it all down on paper makes it seem less of a problem somehow. Although the figures are still a bit frightening!
I'm going to call our creditors on Monday or Tuesday and let them know what is happenning now that we've got our CCCS reference, that number is like a security blanket. I'll let you all know how we get on, thanks to everyone for all of the helpful and supportive comments, you really are a lifeline!

Our DMP looks like a start date for 1 March though! :eek:This icon is pretty much me at the moment, though feeling calmer now that the LBM has passed and we are facing the 40k debt and trying to deal with it through dmp. Getting used to phone calls much better now armed with a cccs number. Current fear is the that the dmp is going to be a problem with the mortgage we hold as we have an od with the same company - IF and scared it'll all go wrong when the od goes into the dmp...the good DFW people have calmed me a little about this though- breathing again rather than hyper ventilating iykwim.
Hope everything goes well for 1st feb starters -:)DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -

Well its Sunday so no letters and no phone calls to make, I'm off first thing in the morning to the frozen north on business so the OH will have to deal for a couple of days. Freezing here hope you are all haveing a peaceful Sunday.
Maybe the Aldi trolley is a test, do we know anyone who actually knows what to do or do the checkout operators just make it up as they go???
How far North are you going Pure Dead Dopey? I am in Aberdeen and we have quite a bit of snow again and the roads are pretty dicey, so take care (although I think it may be going to thaw again tomorrow - fingers crossed).£365 in 365 days - £187/£365

For once i am laughing at my bills rather than crying!

ps Recieved a nice supportive letter from Capital One today acknowledging that this must be a difficult time and could I ring them on their free phone number to update them when I know what's happening!!!!
Wow! Good news re Capital One, let's hope they're as supportive with me (I have had my cc with them for 10 yrs!!)
Just on CO, I was looking into claiming back unsold PPI (using Martin's tips on here) and send a letter to them at the end of December. They respond beginning on Jan saying thanks, they'll look into and come back to me in 4 weeks (which is about now).
I did check with CCCS and this shouldn't effect my DMP with CO but if they agree to pay back PPI they may just take this off what I owe them....which is fine with me! I'll keep you all posted on how I get on.
Feeling pretty good today, and taking each days as it comes. I get paid 15th of everyone month so looks like I'll be starting DMP 1st March...yikes!
Still waiting for NatWest to confirm new bank account, been a week since I sent back signed forms. So I'm guessing that's good news and they're in the process of sending card etc. Just want to get that sort so can transfer pay over and DDs.
I won't waffle on any longer, hope everyone has a good day! :jPaddle No 16

Great news on stress-free weekend girlypink...long may it continue!
It is really annoying (and incompetent!) that the CC company depts don't talk to each other, I know a lot of these letters are auto generated (I've even be told that by them!) but it is frustrating...and a waste of paper!
Just a quick Q and I kinda know the answer but just want to double check - I'm assuming even though you're on a DMP you still get statements from each creditor every month? As per usual?
ThanksPaddle No 16

Hi everyone
I begin my DMP in March, but apart from a letter from John Lewis i've had no contact at all. I was expecting lots of annoying phone calls.
I get a lot of calls for an employment agency with a similar phone number to mine. Perhaps they have my creditors hassling them?:DSealed Pot challenge 2011 member 1051 - aiming for £365
