Starting my DMP on 1st Feb... Anyone want to join me?

So I finally plucked up the courage to get 6 postal orders for 1.00 each. I was going to try and pay a larger token payment but TBH I need to hold onto the cash I have so I can start the dmp in the first place. And of course I had to invest in truecall.....

Thanks newbeginning! One of our concerns is how much we will be left to live on? Do CCCS work out a 'reasonable' amount? Not sure what that is! We've got Jack S*** left at the mo so anymore will be a bonus!

Thanks! We ending up meeting up with another home ed family at the park, so that was a bonus. 3 rosy cheeked worn-out kids fast asleep so just getting stuck into finishing off the paperwork to post tomorrow:j

HA HA HA!!! I'm just looking at an HP agreement I have that isn't on my dmp, it's hp, after all and almost finished. They are offering me another 5000.00 credit!! NUTTERS!!!!

Thanks tedsd. Luxuries are long gone anyway because all our money goes on bills! Good luck with your DMP...we will be keeping up with your progress and telling everyone about ours.

It's not to bad to be honest, it's just living without all the luxuries, but they are quite generous with shopping budgets and things so you can still squeeze in the odd little luxury, I made it through the first month with a little bit left over,not a lot admittedly but the point is that there was something left for the 1st time in ages!! and it's a good feeling to not be living off credit anymore. To be honest and I hope no-one takes offence by this, it's just learning how we should have been years ago.

And a couple of months ago, what would you have done? Depends what it's for but I know I'd have taken it! Not now though :A

I agree. Me & my hubby were reluctant to ask for professional help because we felt we should pay back what we've borrowed but to keep up payments we were borrowing more ie debt spiral! Then we read on here about DMPs and with one of these you do pay it back just in a more manageable way. We were gutted we were in this mess but are now happy that we're being proactive. :j

Probably another shiny new cleaning device would be needed for the one carpet I have in the whole house!

Just sent my first token payments (3 cheques for £1.00 each) and I start my DMP on April 5th (just sent DD mandate to my bank). Only HSBC is left to go and PayPlan will tell them the end of the month as they have my current account, loan and credit card.
My new bank account is set up and DD's are going over smoothly (so far). 4 more to transfer tomorrow then the last 3 on the 16th of this month.

Now breathe in.........and breathe out...... (inserts stress relief smiley)
