    Morning All!!

Heavy snow here today, has been all morning and forecast to all day!
Not settling much though so shouldn't be too slippy when I walk home from work, might leave a bit early though just in case! :D

Not much OS happening when I get in from work this evening apart from a quick sweep round the floors and cooking tea, which will be cauliflower cheese bakes, pots and veg. Baked a ginger loaf cake last night and it was delicious (if I do say so myself! :p), so will have that for pud.

    Have a great day all!

Hi, Hugs to all that need them.
Another miserable day here, I'm not sure where this week has gone to. A friend came round for a coffee yesterday morning and didn't leave until lunchtime and I then visited another friend after school. In the evening I went to my quilting group, and started a new project.
This morning I made it to the Boots sale, I got 2 large photo albums for £4.50 (they were reduced and 2 for 1). I also got DS2 a chess set and some Xmas cards for next year.
I haven't decided what we're having for dinner tonight. I really need to get back into meal planning. I'm going over to flylady now to see what I'm supposed to be doing!

Just had to pop in to say how proud we are of DS after his A* grade in his GCSE Catering practical yesterday. A 3 course themed meal with a side of bread. My little oik decided to cook Thai.. a dry run at home on Sunday cooking blind and then straight into it yesterday. Yummy , although mu eyebrows were sweating when we got to taste it last night!!!

...since I went to bed at 9pm last night I do feel like I had better night's sleep so consequently am in a better frame of mind this morning...

Maybe that could be an answer to get you back in the frame of mind where you can cope with the broken nights? I know that even just working outside the home & running the house without having little ones or other family to take care of I NEED an early night at least once a week, usually a Thursday, when I take myself to bed at 8pm with a hot choccy & a book to listen to Radcliffe & Maconie :o

Rather mild here to-day, hope that it doesn't mean that we are in for snow, never want to see another flake, just messes everything up.

Left car in garage, they dropped us to hospital, went and had breakfast, then got a taxi home (€18.00...no wonder I keep a car!) As usual OH didn't have his bus pass so we would have had to pay on the bus and do a lot more walking...have to do return journey whenever car is ready, might persuade DS3 to bring me as don't want another taxi fare.

Dinner to-day will be ham and cabbage left over from yesterday, will steam fresh potatoes, OH boiled some yesterday in a gallon(?) of water and they are not nice to say the least....not difficult to cook potatoes properly FGS!

Hugs to Tris and all who are ill, hugs also to those who are feeling fed up for whatever reason.

Ladyshopper...was feeling sorry for you having to find something for work that fitted you until you said that everything was TOO BIG

Aussie....safe flight, enjoy the meet on Saturday, and have a good holiday.

Bought some marmalade oranges this morning, they are now in the middle of their 2 hour boil, may not make the marmalade until to-morrow, will see how much energy I have when they have cooled.

Knitted a slipper for DGS2 last night from memory of a pattern I found somewhere before Christmas and knitted for DGD1...may have misremembered (is that even a word??). It didn't turn out nearly as well and is too big for him...will either rip and start again or do another one the same size and give them to DD4 and do him another pair....can't understand why I had to do something that I didn't have the correct pattern for when I have at least several patterns.

OH putting on working overalls, hopefully he and Kerry are going to do something with the greenhouse, it could do with warming up before I put anything out there...going to make carrot and coriander soup with lentils in a minute so that he will have something warm to come in to later on.

While we were out Kerry had a chew of a new back-door mat I had bought but not even taken out of wrapper....she did a lovely 'distressing' job on it.

Better go and do something more warming than sitting here, the whole house could do with a hoover...have a good day all

Good afternoon chums ,well school run went o.k. with the three little lads as good as gold and full of smiles bless them.
Then I had to pick their cousin up to drop her off at college.Got a muffled grunt which I took to mean "Good Morning Granny I am so pleased that you are taking the time to run me to college as I'm too darned idle to get a bus" .She is 16 with attitude, but it suited me, as I had to pop into the local Uni library to pick up some books for my next essay on the Irish potato famine. The Uni library in Chatham is so good and the staff are really helpful.I came home with an armful of stuff.I only wished I taken my notes from home as I could have spent the day doing my essay there, still I can at least have a cuppa when I feel like it at home and it doesn't cost me anything.Lunch will be a banana sandwich on multiseed bread and some grapes mixed with yoghurt, fairly healthy with lots of energy boosting stuff to get my little grey cells to work.Tonight's dinner is pork chop with mash and veg and some lovely brie melted on the top .Maybe not quite so healthy but a treat for me for working this afternoon on my essay.
Hope Aussielass you have a good flight and I am looking forward to Saturday lunchtime ,fingers crossed that all our trains are running o.k. from Kent
Hope everyone has a good day
    Cheers Chums

    Hi all,

Just a very quick post to say that the scan did not go well. It has been discovered that I have had a missed miscarriage and am going to be booked in for an operation shortly. Needless to say DH and I are devastated. Not sure what else to say really.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and concern so far.

    xx
