Morning all.............(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) if you need one.
Life is hectic here now we have our removal date, just 11 days.....aaaarrrrggggghhhhhhhh.
I was late getting up this morning, OH let me sleep on as I have not been sleeping so well. I spent most of yesterday afternoon on the phone changing our address etc and sorting out British Gas. We have no gas at the new house, there is none in the village either. Thankfully as we are moving we do not incur the penalty for cancelling the gas account. The leccy will be transferred straight over. Once we are out of the fixed rate I will change suppliers.
OH rang the foot lady last night, she forgot to put it in her diary last week, so she is coming at lunchtime today. We are still waiting for the mover chappie to contact us.......
Mover has been on the phone, he tried 6 times to get through yesterday, coming this afternoon...........hope he is prepared; we may have a 2 bed house, but not everyone nas a bedroom dedicated to quilt making.......how ever I managed in the corner of the bedroom in the apartment I will never know..........
I have to have the steps in to get into the attic and get the stuff down from there, the boxes for both machines are up there and god knows what else.....there are a couple of plastic crates that will take fabric what else is up there I cannot remember.....certainly not as much as there was in the small attic at the apartment.
DS2 is coming next Friday to take stuff down and fill holes etc.........
I have to nip to Aldi for fruit, just oranges and apples I think to last us through next week. I have not bought anything since 27th Dec, we are working through the freezer just now. I have enough food in for us to do it. So using up whats already in store.
I am still going with the instant porridge, when its finished I am going to try with porridge oats, see if I can get on with that......I do find I do not get the huingry gap in the middle of the morning when I might be tempted to eat biscuits.
I really need to get back to the diet. A couple of mornings this week my hips has felt as if it was going to let me down........I have not weighed myself for a while, dare not!!!
Pizza and salad tonight, will just have banana on its own, no ice cream or cream..........
Must get on, OH has gone out to the post with some letters and to put a letter through our landladies door confirming what I told her on Sunday. Thought she might be in touch before now.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Carrying on with my big clean up while DS2 is away, also got the house to myself today. We got Wii Fit+ yesterday so will be trying to get to grips with that,I'm hopeless, and my Wii age is 8 years more than my proper age!Not to mention my balance being very poor....etc etc
Tea is chicken breasts wrapped in ham,DS1s request.
Essexgirl-our dog is also very embarrasing to take to the vet,and he is due his booster soon.He doesnt mind going, loves the vet but she lets him thru the back door so he doesnt meet any other dogs because he howls like a banshee when he's in the waiting room with them.:o My brothers staffie is just like yours by the sound of it though.
Hope everyone has a nice day.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning all!
Got all ready to go on school trip this morning to the Geffrye Museum and when I got there they are not going till 12.30, so have come home till then. There's no room on the mini-bus so I will have to make my own way and meet them there.
I got a Finish Dishwasher cleaner to try (in DW now)- cant believe how stinky DW's get! They say you only need one of those compared to two shop brands - we'll see! also got the mugs soaking in washing powder solution to get rid of stains.
Need to stick head in the freezer now to see what I can do for tea!
Loved the hairy bikers again - I could taste that indian food thru the screen! :rotfl:
No snow here yet in London, forecast is for lunchtime, have heard it's reached Colchester, Essex. If we do get it I hope it's only a small amount.
((Hugs)) to all those not feeling well or with nasty falls!
Have a safe journey Aussielass and see you saturday!:j
have a good day all xx0 -
Morning all!
Chilly here today, and a bit drizzly, dog not at all happy with the weather lately, he takes it as a personal affront!
Washing machine gave up the ghost the other day, so bought a new one yesterday, ex/oh was with me and came over all money saving, poor chap in Curry's must've wondered what'd hit him! Anyway all plumbed in a working a treat, now just need to catch up on the piles of washing, so that'll be most of my day I suspect!
Gave the house a good tidy round yesterday, and kitchen is looking pretty good as kids are so relieved to have a dishwasher again that they are more than happy to load it, long may it last! I always find that once there is a pile of dishes then the kids don't seem to worry and just leave everything else out, so the dw is encouraging them to be tidy too!
Lunches: ham sarnies/mexican salad wraps, apples, mince pie, cheese (still have some individually wrapped ones left!)
Dinner: gammon, egg and chips, probably with peas and sweetcorn, though for some reason kids have gone off peas a bit?
My dinner will be some hm soup taken into work, and lunch will be mexican wraps, leftovers from last night!
Other jobs for today, check car starts before I go to work, starter motor jammed yesterday, new one on order, put chilled stuff into freezer as ready meals, make opticians appointment for kids, find some uniform for work that fits, everything is currently too big!
Have a good day all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Feeling very tired today as yesterday took a lot out of me.My flatmates ex business partner/friend had to spend his first night in a hostel last night. They told him he had to turn up between 8 and 9 and he can't leave in the morning til 7.30 am. He was feeling very depressed and even suicidal before he went in and had to go to the pub and drink loads beforehand. He should have told the council about his line of work (construction)which means he would have to be on site really early should he find any work and also that he has a little girl so he has to have somewhere for her to stay/access etc. I am getting really worried about him to be honest and dont know what I can do to help aside from what my flatmate and I have been doing which is buying him bits to eat here and there. We dont have a lot of money ourselves and cant give him a place to stay.Worse still it is his birthday on Thursday so we plan to try to take him to Curry Night at the local Wetherspoons (I might make up for the cost by not actually having one myself). It is making me really sad both to see this man who has worked hard all his life end up like this)not least that this must be upsetting his daughter) and to have it brought home to me constantly that this is a situation I could find myself in soon.
Dont really have much OS planned so far. Maybe watch Delia on the iplayer. Sold a book on Green Met so have to go post it.
Breakfast - half a LO pork pie
Lunch - LO pasta with chopped chili hot dog sausages maybe mixed with the spare garlic and onion dip from some reduced garlic mushrooms from last night.
Dinner - havent thought yet.
Hope everyone is well.will BBL xWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Morning all
I'm home! Operation was finally done first thing on Monday and thank you all so much for the good wishes, it really means alot:A
The best news is that it looks like the results are going to be good although I have to wait a few more weeks until all biopsy results are back but the surgeon says he is not expecting any bad news! I am very sore, sleepy and chesty from the anaesthetic, and an awful sore throat from the pipe down etc but other than that not too bad at all, a couple of days rest should see me fine I hope. I have to say the nurses etc on the High Dependancy Unit were absolutely wonderful.:A:A:A
SunnyGirl glad the funeral went well (sorry if that is not the right word to use). Hopefully the focus can now be on the good memories and not her final illness ((((Hugs))))
Diva sorry to hear about Tris and Michelle. I hope they both improve quickly. That man has sure had far more than his share of bad luck recently and surely deserves some respite. How is Pam
Ok that is about as much as I can remember so far - still a bit muddled in myself so prob need another sleep.
Hope you all have a good day - will try and catch up more later.
Oh I see Aussie is on the way - hope the flight is good!

No snow here, just rain. Think I prefer the white stuff - at least it's more fun to be outside in with the kids. Rain just doesn't do it
Reverbe - hugs to you and your friend xx No words of advice unfortunately but I am thinking of you all.
Nic1 - glad your op went well. Get lots of rest xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning
((hugs to all in need))
I slept like a log last nightwoke up this morning feeling a tad achey after the exercise class but not as bad as I thought I would!
Today is my last day in work til Monday as I have the next 2 days off :jI'm doing a NVQ in work so am ploughing through that at the moment as I very rarely get time to do any work for it!
Need to go to Tesco tonight for some fresh fruit/veg/salad, though I'll have a lookie at Aldi/Lidl online first to see what offers they have. Need to get a prescription filled and they have pharmacy in Tesco so will probably still go there too!
OS wise, I need to tidy up and put away laundry. Also I put DW on as soon as I woke up but realised that the water company may be turning off the water this morning  hopefully DW would have finished before they did that!
Have a good day all

Been into work. Apart from meeting it was first day back, so have a form to fill in. GOod news is that tutor 'forgot' to tell me that my classes aren't running tomorrow as the tutors are taking another group out. So I will just sign in as usual and come home after looking for the class and finding they aren't there. Otherwise, as casual staff I wouldn't get paid.
Other good news is that it's payday this weekend. Slips were out today and I see that I have a bit of holiday pay coming, I suppose if I had thought about it I would have realised, but had forgotten it, so that's a nice surprise.
Got home and dh's 3 weeks of expenses have arrived in the bank so that's more good news.
Stopped for coffee with mIL and she gave me 6 jars of jam of different sizes that were surplus to requirements, some hm some from hampers. One is strawberry from F & M!
Now I need to get on with my sewing and earn some more!! Byeeee"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Morning everyone!
Don't laugh but I just caught a bus for the first time in about twelve years, maybe more. (Didn't get one to work the other day, met someone from work on the way to the bus stop, and got a lift!) OH had my car today again, so I walked boys to school, which is about half an hour at a brisk pace - I don't do distances - then walked into town to catch the Boots sale, but the local shop is too small, and didn't have anything! I then had a wee wander round the shops, went to Home Bargains and bought some odds and sods, hairdye in Superdrug (MoneySaving as I do it myself) Then had a cuppa for a treat and caught the bus home. Wow, they are so shiny and new and clean, and with the digital display with the locations etc., I was like a kid. What a change. The price made me cough, though!
So I think this will be a new weekly routine. Soon I will be off work every friday, and I think the kids would like to walk to school every week. We can't do it every day because of my job, but this will help kickstart this new healthy year for me.
Today's plan is to blitz the kitchen, and possibly the ironing mountain, which is having a wee dig every time I go past it, "Oi, You!".
Walking down to collect the boys after school, then off to visit my favourite DSis, who lives quite near the school, and whom I haven't seen for over a month:o we didn't even manage to meet up for Christmas, and there have been 3 family birthdays since then, so we have pressies etc. still to exchange. I only speak to my sisters and not my parents, so Christmas was difficult to arrange (as they are all still close), and because our rellies were here from abroad, and I've been working so much, it's ben hard to fit in. She also was working very hard over the Christmas period, and we've spoken regularly on the phone, so it's not been all bad. So, looking forward to that, I adore her, and her MIL is in hospital at the moment not very well at all, so looking forward to seeing BIL and giving him a hug, too. My Dniece was 16 on Saturday, and I spoke to her on the phone when I got in from work, but she was just on her way out, so am also looking forward to seeing her, too.:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
Can you tell I'm excited:o?
Not much other OSiness til tonight, then, when I plan on baking up a storm. HM quorn bolognese for dinner with some whoopsied gorgeous rustic bread from Mr T the other night, which I shall drench in olive oil and garlic and rosemary. Yum Yum
Have a great day, safe journey to Aussie, don't be getting drunk and disorderly on the plane, and best wishes and hugs to all the poorlies and worried.
