I was referring to the partner - which was blatantly obvious other than to those who are wrong and want to try and debate stuff like this to hide that.

Whether they had a meal or whatever is relevent.

Where did the OP say that the parnter had a meal in the Brewrs Fayre? If you re-read the post correctly this time you will see that the OP said that their parnter went into the Brewers Fayre to rest.

It is relevant as the OP's parnter never had a meal, so what you were saying is a blatant lie.

As everyone knows when you suddenly taken ill, sometimes your normal though process goes out the window, hence why the OP's parnet chose to park in a garage rather than the Brewers Fayre car park, which would have been the normal thing to do in this instance.

But had the mind to park the car, buy a bottle of water, phone OH, then enter a nice warm pub.

Yes there was no thought process present.

Not sure of many pubs that wouldnt expect you to purchase something. OP care to tell us what she bought in the brewers fayre?

Did the garage have toilet facilities, or was it necessary to go to the pub - that would seem reasonable?
Was the area where the car was parked marked in anyway to say not to park there (eg. cross-hatching) and were there any signs up?
If not, then I don't think the garage can do too much; the OP bought an item at the garage, so she probably wasn't even trespassing.
On the matter of taking photos, it might be worth seeing if the area is commonly used for parking by other customers too.

Why? What would this prove? Just because lots of other people might do something they shouldn't do isn't an excuse for doing it yourself. Up until last year it was common for MPs to fiddle their expenses but that doesn't make it right.

The big question for me is where is the OP? This thread started more than two days ago and we still don't know -

    1) How long was the car parked at the garage?
    2) Did the Brewer's Fayre have a car park of it's own?
    3) What the OP's partner did whilst in the Brewer's Fayre?
    4) I'm sure that there are more questions....................

I also think that some people are just automatically favouring the 'underdog' here. I know that MSE is all about standing up for the man or woman in the street but there are odd occasions when he or she is in the wrong. BP is a nasty, moneygrabbing corporation which is part of a cartel ripping off us motorists, but I think given the facts as they stand I can fully understand why the garage manager was so angry. Maybe if the OP can fill some of the holes in the story I'll re-think this.

Bottom line is, BP won't bother doing anything about this.

Quite frankly, their legal teams will have much more important things to do than pursue this.

Didn't realise the OP hadn't posted since the start.

If they were honest with the full facts of the case i.e. how long they were parked, the closeness of the Brewers Fayre, well then people could give a direction as to whether....

    BP were being unreasonable.........................or

    The OP was being unreasonable..................

I agree that you should not just "jump" on BP because they are a big company. I think they still run a franchise where they rent out their branding, livery and so on to INDEPENDENT forecourt owners who then have to make a living from selling their petrol....so it may not be as cut and dry as all that. The last thing you need is your business being disrupted by something like this and the OP seems quite indignant that the forecourt assistant and manager were upset at the OP's actions.

I work near to a cashpoint machine where there are double yellow lines with absolutely no parking at any time yet every single day people park "just" to get some money out of the machine. And every single day traffic backs up whilst these people are checking their balances, getting a receipt and generally acting as though they are doing nothing wrong. Sometimes it kicks off and there are horns and expletives.

BP have every right to be extremely angry in this instance. I don't blame them at all!

Yes, it's ok to say "should have" this and the other. But the fact remains that the OP should have either stayed in the car, or moved it to the pub car park. And that's it.

Tbh we are probably not far off shops having to display signs stating "please do not steal" or "goods cost money" or people will be allowed to help themselves.

How dare BP not expect people to abandon cars at the damage to their trade.

another 1 post wonder posting fabrications to start a pointless discussion? discuss!
-managed to find a convenient place to park.
-managed to walk, wait and pay for something in the shop.
-managed to walk even further to rest in the local pub.

all this time could of been spent rolling the car round the corner and sleeping in it.
if i fall 'suddenly ill' i will stop wherever i am and let the police safely deal with me.
