Yes, this could also be a setting in Google search itself:

Otherwise look for an auto-complete setting in IE (Tools/Options I think) and untick.

just tried that and saw the option but came back with The requested URL /showthread.html?p=29036337&posted=1 was not found on this server how do i access it from my browser page?
