  • Its hard to expain the feeling you get during a reiki session. I sat in on my friends session-done by my student, that was my first ever experience- I felt so many different things during it--there was definatly a power there-felt it pulling me-very weird .
When I had it done myself it was amazing. I dont know where Jan had her training-but do know she contacted a member in local area who is a Master -about expanding and doing more with her reiki. The woman charged her loads of money-told her nothing really and was watching her watch all the time Jan was there-she didnt help her at all-so can see there is good and bad in it!
I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....

Hun, MOST people, if they were to dig deep enough, would have an 'Uncle Jack on their mothers side'

Nope, none here, but I did have an Uncle Bob, really freaked me out when people said "Bob's your Uncle" were they mediums then????? :rotfl:

another question coming up..... I've google'd reiki so I see what it is - but why would you go for a reiki session? For a physical problem?

hi redbern - you can go for a reiki session for a physical problem of course - but, be aware a reiki therapist CANNOT claim healing powers which can cure certain diseases such as cancer or syphilis (some old peice of legislation i think). most reputable reiki healers dont claim healing powers, instead concentrating on the relaxation benefits.
for mental issues such as stress or nervous problems there are obvious benefits to relaxing for up to an hour with someone who is totally focused on YOU, just that can be healing! (by the way from the same law reiki healers cannot treat certain mental issues such as schizophrenia).
some people like to have reiki simply for the relaxation - its lovely!
also - we treat animals too - and you cannot fool them and they dont lie about how relaxed they are!
my computer gets reiki now and again too!
if you googled reiki then you will know about usui reiki - the largest most influential branch - and the very strict guidelines we work to.
that answer enough for you redbern? - any more questions just ask!
  • Hi Redbern-its one of the most relaxing things Ive ever experienced. My friend who had it done said the same thing! It seems to completly balance you out mentaly.
I felt completly relaxed and 'easy on ' for a few weeks afterwards. Its very difficult to describe to be honest. My friend has also sent me absent healing at times when Ive not been able to get to her. I cant get my head around just how this works but it does. She has sent it me when I havent asked her to as well-and Ive realised she has done so--if that makes sense.Ive asked her afterwards and shes told me she had felt I needed some healing so sent me some!
I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....

so, is it a bit like a massage - but without contact? (struggling to understand just what it is) So one would have to be 'open' to the benefits for it to work?

I do reiki 'hands on' but its not necessary. think of laying on of hands - but where someone has, say, been recently hurt - I wouldnt touch but would hold my hands a few inches above the site. also over private parts! they are not touched either - some therapists hold their hands in the air or above or below or to the sides.
as dianetheartist correctly says - you can recieve reiki even though not in same room, or country even as the therapist - its called absent healing - and can be very effective. and no, I am not going to tell you how it is done! one of the 'trade secrets' sorry!
