whenever the windows mist up clear them with paper towell and bin it,just putting the heater on will just evaporate the moistur and leave it in the atmosphere, also as suggested put a small heater in the car and leavr a window slightly open,

has the car got a sunroof?if so check that the drain holes are clear

Only if you have recirculation switched on. If not then as much air will be leaving the car as air is coming in through the vents.

It makes sense when you first get in, or at least on short journies to have A/C, heating and fans on maximum, only turning heating down when you can't stand the temperature, but leave the fans on maximum as long as you can, it should help dry things out nicely.

Of course none of this helps if you have a leak somewhere. A trip through the car wash can help pinpoint that!

It would be nice to have misted up windows if the reason was good enough.:D

Have you check the rain gutters in front of the windscreen for leaves? When this happens it can block the drain holes at the bottom and cause the gutter to fill up. If there are any grommets / entries through the bulkhead into the car then these can cause water to leak into the car. I have seen this happen a couple of times to friends' VW Golfs.
  • If its a Mondeo it will be the door seal INSIDe the actual door that is leaking, probbaly.

simple fix if youre handy with a set of sockets.

Silicone oil spray is a better idea on the neoprene door seals. WD40 is petroleum based I think which may degrade the seal.

My car's been like this. it's made worse by the fact that the heater doesn't work either - it blows, but only cold air. Any ideas on this?

    Thanks.

When I bought my lovely Mondeo Verona five years ago, it leaked through to the rear seats, making my passengers look as though they were incontinent!
However, after going on to the Mondeo owners forum (GREAT!!!!), I finally found the solution-
Take off the rear light clusters and seal around the flange with black silicone sealant. I have to report that the old girl has never !!!!ed herself since!:rotfl::rotfl:

Which is a lot more than can be said for me!

    Only joking.:o
