ohh people in the know nice one will be picking your brains too se99...can i just ask everyone what woul you do with courgettes i've never cooked them what do they tste like?0
-
Courgettes - really easy to grow in tubs too! Excellent chopped up in stirfries, roasted with peppers and onions, veggie lasagne, courgette and mint soup, cut them in half lengthways, scoop out the flesh and mix it with cheese and nuts before putting back in the "skin" and baking.....

He's doing a lot better thanks, he's going to go and speak to a couple of agencies today to try and get some work for next week hopefully.
Ryan is doing quite well too - strangely enough he seems relieved that there is a reason he can't control his behaviour too - unfortunately he's starting to be aware that he's 'different' which is hard for him, but we will try and keep life as normal as possible for him."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
You can use thin strips of raw courgette in salads, but use the smaller one for this you don't want the seeds to have developed, and the skin gets tougher as they get older/bigger.
I mainly use courgettes a lot in ratatouille and pasta sauces, but also use them lightly fried in butter or olive oil as a veg.
If it's rained and you've forgot to pick them, they grow very quickly to the size of small marrows, so the stuffed marrow recipes work OK too.0 -
hey snaggles,
my friends hubby uses agency work has had the offer of full time with some of the companies but prefers agency (i think it's cause he can pick and choose his days so he can be around for child care issues) i hope it isnt long till he get's something that he likes ...it is good thought that ryan has a bit of a better understanding of his condition it must've been so frustrating for him to not know why he was behaving the way he was..i'm sure though that with the loving family he has he will do fantastic...
se999 i am starting to really fancy this idea of growing courgettes it's funny how when you go shopping you look at these things and say i wouldnt know what to do with that so walk on ...are they related to marrows (another thing i havnt eaten) i didnt know you could eat courgettes raw though gonna buy one over the weekend and try it i think ...
well i had a wee surprise hubby joined online banking so i went and checked his accounts he has enough in his isa to clear one of the visa's soooooooo as of today we have only one visa left to pay from our holiday yippeee i am happy and feel as if some of the pressure is off will go for a big push to clear the last one...however hubby is now off work sick he's really lucky he get's paid but he's spending money like it's going out of fashion weve went out for lunch twice this week so far ok it's been cheap lunches like £6 a head and we were drinking water (so no drinks bill) and realistically we've filled ourselves to bursting so had a very light dinner but i can see the money slipping through my fingers he came in today have got another weeks line from the dr he really isnt well so i feel guilty grudging the money but part of me starts to panic when i see the money tub diminish ...it's due to get topped up today so i am topping it up and when that goes there will be no more i'll get hubby to make some decisions i think0 -
Well done on clearing the credit card! :T

You will get there soon, I'm sure, you're doing really well. What are you going to do to celebrate once you are debt free?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
