Low energy bulbs are not really made for dimming. The light they give out if they were dimmed would equal a nightlight bulb.

The Megaman product is for a low energy Halogen replacements. Look at www.tlc-direct.co.uk who have them cheaper than lamps4you.

We been looking at this for a while, but in the end we opted to replace dimmers (very easy to do takes 10 minutes max) to normal switches we got two single dimmers replaced in 2 bedrooms and 1 dual switch replaced (haven't done that one yet)

We have downstairs two candle type lighst each take the small fitting SES candle light bulbs, one takes 3 bulbs 60W (screw) the other 5x60W (bayonet)

I noticed Morrisons have them on offer at £2.99 each for energy bulbs

I know its easy to replace, I put them in, But until there is a viable alternative I will stick to the dimmers.

You can get dimmable low energy lamps (some dim by a switch and others by dimmer )

Try http://www.litebulbs.co.uk/ - they have the full Megaman range, plus some other bulbs which might be suitable. If you really want to save money, switch your halogen bulbs to LEDs, they use 2% of the energy of normal halogen bulbs = big savings!

The LED's arent very good for lighting a room, I saw them being tested last week in a electrical wholesaler, they okay for lighting steps, pictures etc. The megaman bulbs I got them at edmudson electrical wholesaler they are all over country on industrial sites

I am very lucky that I was eligible to receive some free energy saving lightbulbs which I have replaced my old bulbs with, however I couldn't use them in one room because we have a dimmer switch and they were not compatible. :(
Does anyone know anywhere that sells ones that are compatible? (Fairly cheap preferably.)

    Thanks in advance.

Megaman do dimmable CFL's , not cheap though. Might be better getting rid of the dimmer switches.
