low energy dimmer bulbs?

Following on from the thread about low energy substitutes for halogen bulbs, has anybody come across a low energy bulb that can be used where the light system has a dimmer switch fitted?
My sister is in a rented cottage, most of the downstairs lights are designed to take candle style bulbs, and they are all controlled by a switch with a dimmer on it.

Megaman are producers of these. Just contact them on 0845 408 4625 and they will be able to point you to a local supplier or may possibly allow you to order from them. They were really helpful with my query - I met them at the Ideal Home Exhibition last year.

Update - online stockist here but pricey0 -
Thanks very much for all that, I will pass the information on0

That's a clever product. Note that it's a bit more fiddly to use than a standard dimmer, and you only get four levels of brightness, but it's still a big step forward.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

The reason standard eco bulbs don't work with dimmers is that the dimmer requires a certain resistance across the bulb before it will work.
As an experiment I put an eco bulb into a multiway light fitting on a dimmer with normal bulbs in the rest of the sockets to provide the resistance. When I dimmed the switch up and down the normals bulbs dimmed accordingly but the eco bulb was full brightness all the time0 -
Actually, it is the bulbs that do not "recognise" the chopped-up waveforms produced by the dimmer. The bulb is only capable of being on or off, not at an intermediate value. The bulb tends to flash, which isn't very nice and not very good for it!Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

Can anyone tell me if there are energy saver bulbs that will work in mains lighting systems controlled by dimmer switches. The ones I currently have don't work for obvious reasons.
Cheers
