Prices up 1.2% in just the first 7 days of the year.....
You're right, that's fantastic news. Just think, if prices continue rising at a rate of 1.2% every seven days for the next three years the average house will be worth over £1 million. How brilliant! We'll all be rich I tells ya, rich!
I'm so pleased I'm going to add the smiley face pint glass beer icon:

Helpful note to bears, bulls and rewired:
The first comment I made above is anti-hamish, mocks the idea that house prices going up unsustainably is a good thing and can therefore be thanked by rewired, doire, boomerangs, bernard shaw and carolt.
The comment under that mocks Brit and his wonderfully pessimistic predictions. It probably appeals more to your 'bulls', or people who like to mock Brit. I suggest that it could be thanked by the likes of chucky, hamish and nollag2006.
Just thought I'd let people know in case they were confused that one poster could have two seemingly different views and 'bat for both sides'.0 -
btw - does anyone know if Tarot cards are useful for determining local house price trends?
I was using them for that very reason the other day. I got one showing death, another showing a magician followed by a card with what looked like a Scottish man in a kilt, with red hair and a tartan hat.
I took it as a sign that house prices are rising, but possibly just in Aberdeen. Mysterious things, tarot cards.0 -
