Welcome to all the newbies, it's lovely to see so many new posters taking such an interest in Food Optimising - unfortunately a few will fall by the wayside in a matter of weeks.......but it won't be any of you will it????

Karen-d-zar - Mullerlight also do a lemon cheesecake flavour (a limited edition at the mo) which has 1 syn, so watch out for these (well worth the syn IMO), yum!

ilovefreebies (can't post your name while spelling luv that way for some reason) - as far as I know, Body Optimise allows you all the same perks as group members get. I'm sure you and your DH will enjoy the plan. Don't be too disappointed if/when hubby loses more than you every week, men do seem to do particularly well with SW. Whenever we have one in group, they always get the Slimmer of the Week award week after week, much to everyone else's disgust :rotfl:

  • good idea to start new thread consultant.
last week I bought new book for slimming world in class, so have put my old one away and am motivating myself by pretending its my first week and going for a good weight loss. hopefully 2-3lb. i am going to try to stick to my syn allowance and follow the diet without creating my own rules ( ie save syns for alcohol binge at weekend). so far so good. going green

    B banana, tangerine
    T homemade quorn lasagne

2 HA choices (milk allowance) I dont normally skip dinner but I have been out all day shopping and just missed it. no point doubling up. have no intention of missing meals on purpose. No HB choices today.

    Hello

My name is foi1983 and I am a foodaholic! lol

Now, I have the introduction out of the way......

I went to class two weeks ago to buy my books and stuff and weighed in at 13 sts 11.5 lbs. I plan to weigh in at home as I can't afford the classes.

I am officially starting tomorrow, so will email my official starting weight tomorrow morning. I am sooooooooo excited. This year is my year. No longer will my weight control me. For God's sake, I am only 27 years old and I hardly go out because of my weight but that is going to change.

I want to lose about 4-4.5 stones to get to 9.5-10 stones.

I will be doing red days initially as carbs are my downfall and will be exercising regularly.

I am making turkey chilli right now and went to Tescos this afternoon to buy pork chops, sirloin steaks, turkey and beef mince and loads of veg.

I have tried slimming world before but all I ate was chicken as I was so scared that eating any other meat will make me fat but this time I am just going to work the plan and see how it goes.

    Godd luck everyone!

  • Hi guys

Can I join in? I have done Slimming World before and I really enjoyed doing it but I couldn't really afford to go to the classes and without the motivation of the group I just kind of gave up.

I am going to go back to the classes this week but am starting the diet tomorrow....

    Wish me luck :D

Hi, I feel the same about the classes, I have to go to keep motivated. I did really well when I went to class at the beginning, then I moved house and didnt rejoin for ages. I thought I could do it at home but i really needed the motivation and support I get at class. I also feel I cant let myself down by not losing and having to tell everybody, so it encourages me to stick to the plan. And when I go I make sure I stay, I want my moneys worth lol. I know some people cant stay because of other commitments, but at my new class that 2 weeks in a row about 30 odd weighed in and only 11 stayed to the class.

    Evening All,

    Another weekend almost over thank goodness. I've had an ok day foodwise;

    B-Boiled egg on ryvita (HEb).
L-Jacket potato with beans and sweetcorn and cheese (HEa).
T-Egg mayo (extra light mayo) on 3 ryvita (HEb).
    Snacks - 2 nectarines, banana
Drinks-tea with milk (HEa), low cal squash and low cal lemonade

Syns - 1 slice of bread (4.5) and low cal hot choc (3ish??)

Tried to get sme protein in there tday, hence the eggs. Is that a better green day??

    Al x
    WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbs
    Weight today = 17st 6.5lbs

That's much better Kiwichick - you should feel fuller for longer with the addition of some protein. Now the only thing that's missing is fresh veg (sorry, not picking fault, just looking to keep you healthy while you slim).

The hot chocolate drinks in sachets (Options, Cadbury Highlights) are 2 syns for most and perhaps a little more for the extravagant ones.

Hello and welcome to foi1983 and domestic-goddess. Isn't it exciting, knowing that you're about to gain control over your weight?

It always seems a shame to me that we can't bottle this feeling to bring out when the going gets tough.

The only thing I can think of is to write yourself a letter detailing exactly how you're feeling right now, so that when you begin to feel less pleased with the plan, you can bring out your letter and re-read it and perhaps find your motivation again.

Also, something I always mention in group, is to measure yourself (bust, waist, hips) and write this down so that you can actually see the loss of inches as well as pounds and stones :)

Good news about the hot choc, its an ALDI one in a sachet that is low cal and I treat myself at the end of eah day with the remainder of the milk from my HEa and have a hot choc at bed time.

Fresh veg - I agree totally, might snack on some swede sticks and sugarsnap peas in a bit.
