Hey all! Although I've said I'm a new slimmer, I've probably been dieting all my life lol so no all that new! Just new (or re-newed) to slimming world, as I've dug out my old pack and gone through the books again. Hopefully, I'll stick to it this time!

Looking to loose a whopping 4 stone after having already lost 2 stone eating less. Grr... such a mission lol.

Anyway, I'm so happy to find this thread on good old mse as I have the 2005 books for SW and will need to get the new ones. Until them, if anyone can help me I'd be very grateful. I was wondering how many syns Halawa is? I just bought some in the Iranian shop and am very addicted lol, so I'm seriously craving a nice sweet spoonful of it now, but dread the calories (it's practically pure sugar!).

I'm also going to try to use this thread to monitor my weight loss, hopefully if I publicise it, I'll be more motivated to change! I tried this at home by writing up my weight on a white board in our lounge (a very daring move!) so that guests would be able to see my weight and hopefully it would motivate the hell out of me to loose it to avoid the embarrassment. It kinda worked, but more because it was so satisfying wiping off the old weight with a cloth and penning on the new weight with a big smile.

Anyway, good luck all slimmers! Hopefully I can help as much as I can get help here, so looking forward to it.

Calea (14 st 9 lbs)... cringe!

That's exactly why I set up my blog, I knew if I did it publicly I would be less likely to give up. Well done on the 2 stone lost! Wow! I am also aiming to lose 4 stone 3lb. So far 8.5lb down ;) Don't cringe to much - I started out at 17st 3lb :o I'm doing the Extra Easy plan consultant31 mentioned above. I love it and have to confess haven't even looked at the red/green plans yet.

p.s blog is here if you'd like a peep. Really does help and keeps me motivated ;)

I am considering attempted SW but a bit puzzled by the EE part, red and green foods in the same day!

When I did it a few years ago I used to stick to red days as much as possible, so i'd have Bacon, Eggs, Mushrooms, Toms and 1/2 slices of toast for breakfast with a mug of milky tea, then Tuna/Ham salad for lunch, Steak/Pork/Chicken w/ salad, few oven pots, wrap, or something like that for tea. Then i'd nibble on fruit, sugar free jelly etc through the day.
I am such a fussy eater so I couldn't stick with it for long, bad of me really! But now I've heard about the EE days, where you can combine both red/green into the same day, and I like the sound of it but if I had the above breakfast, jacket pot and beans/tuna for lunch, then meat with oven home made chips and veg/sald for tea how would that work?
Also is it that you can't combine both days into the same meal and still have it syn free? i.e. home made spag bol (pasta, mince meat) or jacket pot beans and chicken.
Thanks for any help and advice, it really is appreciated :)

Asda is actually the only one where the rotisseries chicken is listed. I think they used to say that a whole chicken was 40 syns but now they've broken it down into:

Asda Plain Whole Chicken, Rotisserie 100g

    extraeasy.gif 2½ Syns on Extra Easy red.gif Original 2½ Syns green.gif Green 9 Syns

wow - if that applies to asda's ropey dry chicken i dread to think how many syns morrisons has now..

i think i'll buy it fresh and cook it meself and save rotisserie chicken as a treat from time to time!
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

I'm sure you all know this but to save you thumbing through the book for freeness and syns you can fill in your diary online so there's no chance (as consultant suggested above) of counting something as free that isn't free as it won't let you put it in!

Who loves poppadoms? you do know the ones you cook at home are fewer syns than from the Indian restaurant? You can microwave them, and to get a hint of the Indian (deep fried) ones you can spray them with your frylight or an oil sprayer.

Oh, and am I right in thinking that the listed "198 g of rhubarb stewed without sugar" (but with Canderel) is only half a syn? That's fab, rhubarb is in season and it's almost impossible to eat 198g of it! I had 100g for breakfast with some rhubarb Muller and it was DIVINE
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Me I do!!! lol. I'm a poppadom fiend!

Thanks for the tip! Are they the same as what the Sharwoods ones would be?? They are 2 syns each.

Following on from tackling the freezer, I turned to the larder and realised that I still have some of those Butter Buds left if anyone would like to try them without committing to a whole tub. I've recently found Smash Buttery, which is free:j and so def have no need for these now but am happy to pass them onto others who might want to give them a go.
Just PM me your details if you're interested.

Another week starts, lets all hope we're losers (in a good way, of course).

Your post is number 3636 - if you look just before it (at post 3633) you will see all the 'rules' of the Extra Easy plan just as Slimming World set them out.
    Hope this helps.

Peoples, what do you think to a new thread? This one is getting very long and unwieldy.

I'll start a new one and this can carry on till everyone is ready to move over. Hope that's ok with y'all :D
