thanks catt was beginning to think i was invisible lol xx

This is a fast moving thread and you sometimes have to be patient, but there was only 5 mins between your question and an answer, lol, I reckon that's quick!

No-one would intentionally ignore you, but sometimes, when there are a lot of posts following one another quickly, the odd post gets missed. You may have to ask twice, but there will always be someone who will answer.

(((hugs))) Catt, as Peachy says, take care of yourself and stop worrying so much about being 'fat' for the wedding. You'll still look gorgeous and will enjoy your special day. A bit too much weight isn't going to ruin your life, but worrying yourself sick can :grouphug:

    Hi Ladies

I'm getting married sometime this year & really need to lose weight so was thinking of giving SW a go.

I can't attend a class every week as I'm disabled & not very mobile & can't afford the fees to do it online so was wondering which books I need to buy to keep on the plan? There's so many to buy on Ebay & am really confused as to which ones I'll really need. Don't mind having to get books with syn values, etc as would like to make it a easy as possible to stick to!

    Help!!!

Please don't be tempted to buy books from eBay as you will get ripped off. I've seen the pack that you are given on joining a group (for which you pay under a tenner) go for as much as £41

I suggest you go on the website (www.slimming-world.com) and input your postcode to find the nearest 10 groups to you. Go along to one, join (£9.95 at present) get the books and the explanation and you don't need to go back again. When the Consultant rings you (which will probably be after the first missed class) you can tell her you won't be going back as you find it too difficult to get there (or some other excuse). At least ou will have paid a minimal price for the books and had an explanation of how it works. If they have the magazine in group, you could get that too - it's almost a £ cheaper in group than in the shops and will help by giving you a week's worth of menus + other recipes, inspirational stories etc.

This is all you need to be honest, with support from a group like this one, you should be fine. There are recipe books (should you fancy them) on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Slimming-World-Food-Optimizing/dp/0091872545

Hi, I joined SW two weeks ago and lost half pound the 1st week and 2lb this week!

I'm amazed at all the food that you are allowed to eat and although hubby is a skinny bod he is eating mostly the same as me at dinner times.

I have been assured by my consultant that I will lose weight despite being disabled and unable to exercise. :j

I weighed in @ 14st 5.5lb and would like to lose about 3 stone.
Ist Win: 1 week's bed, breakfast and evening meal in Hotel in Blackpool!! :j

    morning all, or afternoon ;),
well don't know what day i'm on red ,green or e/e , will see when i get back from hospital .
breakfast - wholemeal roll h/b, egg, bacon slice - so this can be syned or free on red or e/e
    yogurt banna orange ,
    tea - milk 350 skimmed h/a

please do pop into asda at the moment as there doing so many things on our diet cheaper than tesco , sweet potatoe bigbag £1 , lots of saland from 50p a bag ect
  • It's a shame I can't get to an ASDA, my yoghurt supply is getting low and Heron's didn't have any when I went yesterday :( so i'm going to have to buy expensive Muller Light's from Sainsburys I guess. (It's 4 for £2 I think at the moment)

Just wanted to ask the syn value for Warburtons Raisin Loaf with cinnamon, and the Fruit Loaf with Orange. The slices are pretty small and there is fruit in them..... okay it's a long shot but we'll see :rotfl:

and are Apple Sourz listed? Y'know, the alcohol shot thinggies. I had one when I was out and want to see weather they're a reasonable value.

and love and hugs to you Catt, hope things look up soon. :grouphug:

The recipe Marion quoted for butternut squash soup is my DD's recipe which she adapted from a much longer and more complicated one as she's (I'll try to be charitable here) not a 'natural' cook and she'd be the first to agree :rotfl: I was, and still am, amazed as it's a lovely recipe, dead easy and works every time. I usually use whatever curry powder I have in which, at the mo, is balti and I think I actually like this the best.

Thanks Consultant, I must have got the recipe from you before! I have loads of recipes and most of the time have no idea where they came from:o.

    Marion:)

Oh I hope you use it more than I use my Gaggia one. I got it about 5 years ago, it cost an arm and a leg and I think I've used it about 4 times. I love gadgets but I'm afraid they're usually relegated to the back of the cupboard within a couple of months.

I'm no good at adapting recipes and all the ones that came with the machine used fresh cream, so Marion, when you get going, if you can put some of your recipes on (pretty please) I'll dig it out and have another go.

As an aside, and because you've mentioned your Remoska once or twice, I've talked my Mum into getting one. She lives alone now and I'm always hearing her say, "oh, I can't put the oven on for that little bit" so I showed her the website and some of the recipes and she asked me to order one on the spot, lol. All being well, it should arrive today!!

Oh I am going to be doing loads of experiments making ice cream:D And I love my Remoska, almost never use the oven now. Also have a Tefal Actifry which is my latest love, SW chips, beautifuly roasted vegies, tender pieces of cooked chicken - love it!

    Marion:)
