Lol, no worries peachy - I'd forgotten it was in my sig!
My consultant is useless tbh - she's too busy with 6 classes to give a sh*&. I did ask her for FF but she dismissed it (I do have it from someone else but haven't given it a go yet as I know I'll be hungry & probably give up anyway plus it means buying sooo much different food which I can't afford right now) - I guess I just don't want it badly enough to stick to plan :(

<<BIG HUGS >> Catt. sorry to hear your feeling down. You have a lot on your plate just now so its understandable. It must be hard to have to move so far away from where your family is. My oh is going for an interview in Aberdeen tomorrow (3 hours drive from us at the mo) we so badly want him to get a job but dont at the same time. We would all have to move, but my dd starts school in August so that would be a huge upheaval and I love my wee house and garden I have here, so we will have to wait and see.
If you do end up moving then you could look at it as a fresh start. It means you get to see your lovely oh more and will be starting married life together rather than travelling. Hopefully you would get a job and start to make friends. And Edinburgh isnt that far away that you cant travel to see family and friends. Thats the way Im looking at our possible move. Even if oh doesnt get this job it lookes like the North of Scotland is our only hope of him finding a job (hes a primary teacher).
If it was Australia then thats another matter lol.

Things always have away of working out. And this move needent be forever. New doors always open when you least expect it and send you carting off in another direction.

  • Hi Ladies

I'm getting married sometime this year & really need to lose weight so was thinking of giving SW a go.

I can't attend a class every week as I'm disabled & not very mobile & can't afford the fees to do it online so was wondering which books I need to buy to keep on the plan? There's so many to buy on Ebay & am really confused as to which ones I'll really need. Don't mind having to get books with syn values, etc as would like to make it a easy as possible to stick to!

    Help!!!

Wi day again, gosh it comes round quick doesn't it?! I know I've lost weight because my 'morning' weight is slowly creeping down so am hoping for a little loss come 6 oclock. I'm off to the city this afternoon to choose my engagement ring :D so at least I won't be at home drinking tea - that might help a little :rotfl:
Good luck to all who WI today xx

  • Well i have taken the plunge to rejoin SW after a year off tempted to try it alone but i think i need the support of a group. I think the 1 yr gap and 1stone gain proves that!!

Forgotten how much you can eat, so having a big veggie brekkie
Jacket and cottage cheese for lunch
homemade veggie minestrone for dinner with some granary bread and parmesan

thanks for the recipe Marion :D

I'm going to put canyee pepper in mine because the curry power that I bought isn't very nice :-( but I bought some fresh ginger today and thats going in too! Might venture out into other soups if this one is successful :j

The recipe Marion quoted for butternut squash soup is my DD's recipe which she adapted from a much longer and more complicated one as she's (I'll try to be charitable here) not a 'natural' cook and she'd be the first to agree :rotfl: I was, and still am, amazed as it's a lovely recipe, dead easy and works every time. I usually use whatever curry powder I have in which, at the mo, is balti and I think I actually like this the best.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

I am apparently getting an ice cream maker for Mothers Day - if any one has a good SW friendly recipe I would appreciate it.

    Marion:)
(who needs an icecream maker like I need another hole in my head:p)

Oh I hope you use it more than I use my Gaggia one. I got it about 5 years ago, it cost an arm and a leg and I think I've used it about 4 times. I love gadgets but I'm afraid they're usually relegated to the back of the cupboard within a couple of months.

I'm no good at adapting recipes and all the ones that came with the machine used fresh cream, so Marion, when you get going, if you can put some of your recipes on (pretty please) I'll dig it out and have another go.

As an aside, and because you've mentioned your Remoska once or twice, I've talked my Mum into getting one. She lives alone now and I'm always hearing her say, "oh, I can't put the oven on for that little bit" so I showed her the website and some of the recipes and she asked me to order one on the spot, lol. All being well, it should arrive today!!
