Hi everyone, have had a good day today but haven't really eaten enough again....in my defense have been busy making loads of soup!! HM leek and potato and hm curried parsnip mmmmmm delish.
B - bacon, mushroom, tomato, scrambled eggs with dash of milk (part of A) tea (1) and 2 slices of toast (B)
L - HM Leek and potato soup (will have some fruit when I get back from picking up DS)
D - ?? either chicken stir fry with mmmmm noodle or sw curry??
weighed in this morning at a hefty 14.12 so lots of work to do!!Goal weight....lighter than when I started0 -
Well I make salmon pate with quark with salmon mixed into it - you could probably do the same with anything you like (it's a very soft cheese) or dairylea topped with sliced tomato/cucumber? Pretty much anything you could put on a crackerbread would go on Scan Bran!0

i bought quark the other week when i spotted it in tesco, but i havent actually tried it yet!! might give that a go later with some cucumber and if i like it enough i may buy the scan bran tomorro nyt in class!
Thanks catt!

You may not like quark on it's own- it's why I mix it with something! It's very sharp on it's own (not like philly or dairylea) but takes on the taste of whatever you put in it (if left overnight).0

ok so maybe we could have a brainstorm of what could be mixed with quark to put on scan bran, or on whatever people may choose instead as I too don't eat fish, or normal pate!! Here are my ideas.... herbs...... ok I'm stuck lol!Joined Slimming World 19th May 2009

mushrooms? dairylea (makes your allowance go further!)? Mayo (for the same reason?) Garlic - for making a dip.
Some people put a skinny cow hot choc sachet into it - but I haven't tried that yet - seems a bit odd, lol!0 -
Try mixing a muller light or similar with around the same amount of quark. Spread very thickly on a scan bran and then top with fresh berries. Close your eyes and pretend you are eating cheesecake!

Hi everyone, today is the end of my 2nd week, got my weigh in this evening, I am having a bit of a worry about it!
Last week I was SO pleased with myself, 5lb loss in my first week, not expecting anything like that this week but I feel worried that nothing will have happened! I have been eating all the right stuff, but I have done 3 exercise classes this week, which is 2 extra than I was doing each week before I started dieting & ppl keep telling me that too much exercise will have a negative effect on the weight loss...surely after just 2 extra classes I am not going to turn into Arnold Schwarzenegger?!?0 -
You would need to do a LOT more than 2 extra classes to build muscle (and therefore put on weight - muscle weighs more than fat) but your body MAY retain water until it gets used to the extra classes. If you are drinking enough though you shouldn't retain so don't worry! Drinking plenty is the key to SW anyway.0

Ive tried quark a few ways and its still gives me the heebies a bit. I think its because I expect it to be like Philly and its not quite there. It has to be mixed with something strong flavoured.
However Ive tried the lemon merangue pies (boke), mixed it with garlic and herbs and stufffed chicken with it (yum) chicken liver pate with quark, very very good. But the best thing Ive tried on Slimming world ever to date is the smoked salmon pate SC put up. I love salmon and especially smoked salmon. I mixed it with chives and lemon juice and put it on scan bran, it was to die for. The quark was gave a great consistancy and tangyness. (sp) Ive tried so many SW recipes and a lot are lovely but this is my new fave.
As SC says it has to be left over night to absorb the flavour of what you put in it.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0
