  • Morning oops! afternoon all!
first of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY to beemuzed!
Hugs to Bitsy - i went through the same many years ago with my 2 youngest boys. In the end i took drastic measures and did the controlled crying thing too and the marching them back to bed every time they got out. I have to say it was 2 full weeks of sheer hell and it was not unusual for DH to find me asleep at the top of the stairs ready to wake and put them back into bed! But after the 2 weeks they were both staying in their beds all night and sleeping through. It was sheer bliss! Now my 2 youngest are 14 and 16 and I have to drag them out of bed .
My night out last night was good but we didn't make it to the italian as we decided to have a couple of drinks in every pub we passed! By the time we got near the restaurant it was midnight. It was just nice to get out and let my hair down.
So far today I have done a load of washing and put it on the airer and I have just put DD's work uniform in the wash. I have also done all the ironing and put that away (i detest ironing but force myself to do it every sunday). Gave the downstairs a good hoover and took all the sofa cushions off and hoovered the sofas. Found at least 10 crisp packets tucked down the sides of the sofa :o.
Dinner today will be meatballs and pasta and maybe a sponge pud and custard for afters.
Hugs to the poorlies and those feeling down.
  • Well it had to happen didn't it, the sun is out, the snow is almost gone & I've just had a message from the Enviroment Agency, we are on Flood Alert, great isn't it.
    Hugs Hester

Afternoon everyone.....((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) if you need one......

We went to the allotment this morning to bring some of the stuff back to the house and to meet the chap who is taking it over........he is delighted with it and no problem taking what we want, so came home with a car full of stuff. We also went to Aldi, I managed to get a cast iron casserole for £20 which will fit on top od the woodburner, so I can start a stew off on the cooker and then leave it on the wood burner to cook away slowly through the day.

On our way our we saw our landlady, so gave her the bad news, she was fine as it means she gets out of the clutches of the robbing estate agents, she will use another agent to find a tenant and then manage the property herself. She s coming round to see us later. So thats another tricky situation solved......all we need now is to sort out the removers and we are all set.

My SIL is 50 in 2 weeks, so we are hoping still to be here for that, DD1 is holding a party for him which he does not know about........we will go but not for long........

It a bright day the sun is shining and its a lot warmer than it has been thankfully.....OH is out cleaning the outside of the car........

Roast chicken for supper its on remote control, and the veggies are prepared, so I just have to put them on when its time. We need to go round the house and list what we have for the removers to work out a quote. I am trying to use up what we have in the fridge and inside freezer, so we do not have too much to shift, the store cupboard is going to need a few boxes me thinks. Dreading packing up my sewing room there is so much stuff there fabric, etc......I can see quite a few boxes there too. OH picked up a couple of stronmg ones from Aldi this morning for some of the garden stuff he wants to take.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Hi,
Bitsy - I did controlled crying with four kids in the house. It is chaos for a couple of weeks but if you use the same techniques with both of them and are consistent with both of them then I promise you it will work and it will get better. It will be a tough couple of weeks for all concerned but you will come out of it much happier.

I have just made two huge lasagnes and three small ones for the freezer. Im very tired now so heading for a nap I think! Just had to buy a new TD as my old one has finally given up the ghost. Should be delivered tomorrow so Im scaling down the washing for today. Ironing done by kids dad and kids themselves so feeling organised.

    Hugs
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Do you know, it's very embarrassing for me to admit, but I've only just twigged what 'old style' means! :o:o:o I've found a really good thread I'll read up on so I can get more idea of the OS way of life!

Proud to say I'm just making sweet potato soup and it smells lovely. Much nicer than stuff from a tin ;)

    Afternoon here

I've been out to town and done a wee bit of bootsing, got the books (one ordered) DSs wanted with their gift cards and a waitrose shop to use my voucher.

In a bit of a CBA mood today. Going to tidy round the kitchen and empty the WM. I was going to do chicken pie for dinner but think I'm just going to do roast chicken now.

Bitsy - big hugs sweetie, been there, know how you feel. I never believed people when they said it would pass and I'd be trying to turf a teenager out of bed but that is where I am now. It doesn't help you today but there is an end. Do what is right in your heart sweetie. With the 4 year old could you try reasoning with him that Mummy is grumpy because she is tired and that if he stayed in his bed and slept at night she would be happier and nicer?
