Pooky, I had a funny jaw ache and headache yesterday before I started with this sickness bug, hope you're not getting the same.

Claire surely you can start saving for holiday and if you can't afford it you've only lost £9.95

claire, i have used mysupermarket.com to make a shopping list. i find it easier to keep to and not buy the unnecessary extras which usually find a way into my trolley!

Its worrying me slightly :rotfl:I want to run with elegance....

I think that comes with technique hun...the more you improve and your stride changes you will be more elegant. I run like a small elephant so I shouldn't worry!

no i haven't done a soa to be honest :9

my food shopping bill last week was £66.44 never really known what my money has been spent on (apart from beads!!!) so this year i have started a spending diary

I would suggest you do one then Claire, it could save you a lot of money and help to pay for your holiday. Also get over to t oldstyle board and find out how to slash your food bill. Use up everything in your cupboards for a few weeks and only buy basics (ie veg/milk/spices) I am sure you can skip a weeks shopping and then use that for holiday :D

I understand where you are coming from with the sealed pot but when you are in debt and or can get some income from the interest it makes no finacial sense  If if you set up a savings account with a different branch which you transfer a set amount in each month. But use one that you would have to go on foot to withdraw money. Also if you want to save for a holiday more than buy beads (or whatever) you will do :D

We booked a sun holiday last year but couldn't go in the end - mind you by the time you'd added up the £9.50 per person, the entertainment pass, the electricty and the bed linen it worked out quite a bit more so double check your figures Claire but sometimes having something to save towards gives you a much better incentive to steamline other areas.
