Download Irfanview, Drag your mouse over the airbus until you are happy with the framing and then Edit, Crop Selection, File Save As.

How are finding the viewfinder compared to the film SLR (important question for us specky four-eyes).
The viewfinder is operates in the same as the 35mm SLR so you should have no problems.

As the image is so big and I didn't want to resize and reduce the quality. Its not quiet central,:o but its good fun experimenting.

What other useful things on Irfanview do you recommend learning to use.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

I use Irfanview as my default viewer and also find it useful for capturing screen dumps. I have Irfanview's hot key set as Ctrl Alt I and then press C for Capture. You then have various options, Whole screen, Foreground window, mouse pointer etc. and then by doing Ctrl F11, it will capture screens for you.
It also has a very useful Batch file Rename facility, just open Help for tutorials.

PP - post processing. Any activities you carry out on your photos after you have downloaded from you camera - cropping, adjusting brightness/contrast, etc.
Circular polarizer - filter you fit to the front of your lens. By turning the rotating element you can cut down on reflections and make skies look bluer. There is also a linear polarizer type but this would be unsuitable for your camera.

Rikki, here is an example of post processing of your uploaded cropped image which is obviously not as good as doing it to the original.

This was done using a program called PhotoCleaner.

I would guess at Farnborough Airshow? Flew over my house every day of the airshow week but I didn't get a decent picture of it. I did get the Red Arrows though:

I missed the red arrow shot. I had my camera in one hand and an ice-cream in the other.
