Emmzi- Don't stop posting. Many people like reading these threads for ideas on how to cut down or manage on les, and who knows what the future brings today it might be a challenge, tomorrow it could become reality.
The ones that think people on benefits get too much are usually on threads in D/T and in all the time I've been a member I have never come across any of them posting on the benefits board to help anyone out;)0 -
I didnt say that you should stop posting. It's just a bit p**s taking saying your scrimping down to live what people on benefits live on. Try doing it all the time.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

No but you did imply that posts like this one should not be allowed. You have quite upset me with your indignation. How can Emmzi trying to live off what would be the amount she is entitled to offensive. No, she doesn't have to at the moment, she may well have to in the future.
Its not about trying to emulate people who are on benefits, its about placing restrictions on your spending and one way to do it is to try and live off what measly amount the government would give you (OR NOT IN MY CASE!) in times of hardship.
Emmzi is not doing it because she fancied the idea of scrimping, its so she can pay her debts off in record time.
I did it cos I bloody well had too. I have been there and more than worn the t-shirt. I certainly don't find it offensive.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Hey all,
I think Emmzi is being quite respectful in her attitude and if anything this thread is giving me a reality check as to what people have to think about and plan for when they are on benefits. I hope she keeps on posting - I may have to cope one day on benefits and it would certainly be less of a shock having followed this thread.

If anything, I think Emmzi showing just how hard it is to live on benefits can only be a positive thing, as it shows all those people who think benefit is too high what it actually entails.Keep going Emmzi, I'm going to try and persuade my boyfriend to agree so that I can join in next month!Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! It's obviously upsetting you, so I am going to stop posting. Regardless of what anyone else says, I can't bear the thought of my exercise annoying anyone, and I'd feel guilty doing it. That's not why I am here.Debt free 4th April 2007.
