Parents Discussion Forum

Okay, this isn't really to do with Moneysaving, but I wasn't really sure where else to put it, if anywhere? If it's a problem being here, then I'm sure a mod will remove it?
I've just set up a website called JustForMumz (which is for Mums, Dads and Grandparents!), and we've only got a few members at the moment, and I'm trying to expand the member base.
The website is https://www.justformumz.co.uk and there are discussion boards, and a chat room.
Please check it out, even if it's just to let me know what you think of it! :)
Again, apologies if this shouldn't be here.....!

Not meaning to nit-pick at the first hurdle - by why justformumz if it is for parents/grandparents?

It's a catchy phrase, so I can go with that, but doesn't the title already make assumptions?

Anything with "Mum's/Mom's" in it tends to automatically exclude other groups ... whereby titles with "Families" in is more ... encompassing. (!!!???) Well, that's my experience anyway.

I wish you every success with your website. ((hugs)) and best wishes :):):)

  • Hmmm.... I did post a reply in here, but it now seems to have managed! Lol

Basically, what I said was that the forum was originally aimed at all parents including grandparents, but we've only had a couple of dads sign up, so this is primarily a Mums/Mums-to-be's forum..... We now have over 100 members, which is great! I was recently in the local paper and they did a fantastic review.
Thankyou to everyone who's come through this post!

  • Hi, I use this site quite a lot and just thought I'd add a bit to this thread!
I joined the site about a month ago now, and although I haven't posted on there very much, whenever I do post, I always get a fast response and everyone's always really helpful.
I think they've got about 800 members now, and from what I can see, it just gets better and better every time I go on there!
Definately the place to go for any kind of advice on kids, from pregnancy to teens.

Why nit - pick if you read the title you get the idea of what its all about!

And why shouldn't there be a site just for mums? The assumption made by the title is probably correct, it's the mums that have the babies so it would be primarily to do with them, anyway mums would look at the site and then tell other people about it (I would asume) havn't looked at it yet but will in a few minutes! sounds interesting. Mum's are great family networkers!

Good to hear it's for Dad's too. We often get left out because we are only the 'dads' after all
