Switch? Anyone on scottish power fixed price energy online 2011?
Hi all,
In may 2008, I followed martin's advice and signed up for scottish power fixed price energy online 2011. Wondered if anyone did the same, and has switched since then?
Has prices dropped since then, and is now a good time to switch?
I use all-electricity, no gas.
Thanks in advance for any sharing of experience or suggestions!
Ben

Hi.
I am on this tariff too. I have kept my eye on prices, but in view of the fact you have to pay £50 to terminate early I haven't found it worth it to change yet.0 -
I'm on this tariff too (also all electric). Any time I check the switch sites, I can make a small saving, but not enough to justify giving up the certainty of a fix until 2011.
By the way the original SP 2011 fix that I'm on doesn't have an exit fee, so that doesn't come into consideration.0 -
thanks for sharing your views.
The SP 2011 fix I'm on doesn't have a exit fee too, but I am also not switching yet. Glad to know that I'm not alone!0 -
Yeah, I'm staying on it too - quite happy with it at the moment.0

Hi,
Just found this thread and thought I'd bring it back to life to ask opinions of what anyone else on this tariff has or hasn't done. I presumed that it would still be worth staying with it, but just did a quick check on a comparison site with some very rough figures. This indicates that I would be better of moving, with the cheapest tariff being Scottish Power's own Online Energy Saver 9 Dual Fue which indicates a saving of 12%.
I'm awaiting an up-to-date bill by Saturday at the latest, and will then be in a position to compare with some more accurate figures. I can feel a spreadsheet coming on.:D Or am I best waiting a few weeks/months to see if anything better, including cashbacks, turns up?
I've little idea as I type this which way prices are likely to go, but my feeling is that prices seem to be going down rather than up, and that not going fixed this time is the better way to go. Anyone else who is or was on this tariff have any opinions on the above?Nice to save.0 -

you will have to ask SP as saver 9 is only for new customers, but if you ring the sales tean you may get it!
I left the NSC FEB/March 2011 SP in dec 09 .............on the 11th Feb 2010 I signed back for £120.50 hopefully. I had no exit fee.0 -
Thanks Neil.
I should just point out that having resurrected this thread, I've only just noticed that it refers to the online version. I have the olde worlde version of it, but I presume that they're otherwise the same product.Nice to save.0 -
I've just compared the cost of Online Saver 9 to my existing Fixed till 2011 (Scottish Region, white meter). On my annual consumption I would be paying £51 a year more on Online Saver 9, so I certainly won't be coming off the fixed price.0

I am on Scottish Power Fixed Price Standing charge feb 2011.
Have phoned SP and they wont let me switch to online 9.
So i am changing to eon Fix online v6,this will save me £70 a year and £70 cashback on Quidco or Topcashback.
Can`t understand these energy suppliers losing customers because they wont switch plans.Stuff them.0 -
I am also on the Scottish Power Fixed to Feb 2011 (and don't have an exit fee). I have been starting to think about switching but wonder if it's a little early if there is a prospect of prices falling over the next few months?0
