5p buy it now day - whats wrong ?? merged

Listed a dvd box set on buy it now requiring immediate payment for £16.99 on a 10 day listing.. when the fees came up - instead of the 5p promised it came up as 75p (15p of that was gallery) - It doesn`t normally do that during promotions.. like with 5p listing days it will actually say 5p ..

What have I done wrong??

I think it was mentioned elsewhere that in the terms and conditions you will be charged at full rate and then reimbursed the saving at a later date, perhaps August. Its a bit cheeky eh?

Im sure a clever person will be along in a minute with a link.

If the item is listed in 2 categories, the Insertion Fee will be 5 pence times 2 i.e. 10 pence.
Members will be charged the full Insertion Fee at the time of the listing but will be reimbursed for the Insertion Fee amount paid over £0.05 for eligible listings by 31st August 2006 by means of a credit on their eBay invoice. The invoice credit memo for qualifying items will read "Immediate Payment Promotion".

As I mentioned on the main thread not getting the fees back until August means that we will actually have to pay this bill in full and then get a credit back later, which is Ok for regular seller but not so good for the casual seller.

Got a few unsold BIN items left over from the last cheap insertion fee day.
When I go to relist they show up as full price insertion fees.
Wondering if they sell this time do I pay the full price insertion or the original 5p insertion?
And ditto as to what happens if they don't sell?

Thinking of using these promotional days permanently now for high price BINs but can't figure if I'm gonna get 10 or 20 days on the cheap.

It is sly... but I'm gonna list about 5 things anyway. One I hope to list with a BIN of £70-80 - am I right in thinking I'd only pay 5p for the listing? (Assuming no frills...) Obviously there will be FVFs later.

No reason why using a relist should interfere with the fees, in a bad way, is there?
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

fay a relist shouldn't interfere with the fees at all as long as the relisted auction complies with the t and cs of the 5p day.

Anyone hesitating about using this offer day I'd say go for it...I've sold two items already both of which have been listed at lower prices on an auction before, I am so chuffed. and I still have another 20-30 items to list.

there is a thread running on this topic already and I'll merge the two as you'll find all the answers (i hope) on that one.

One thing though, make sure you list only as immediate payment required otherwise you won't get a fee credit in August.

I've tried to list a couple of things - BIN, immediate payment, PayPal only, UK only - but I get no advice that my listing is eligible for the promotion ..... so I don't complete the listing.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that not all categories are included in the offer. How do you know whether you've got the lower price or not (even though they are not going to give you the money back until August)?
