Mmm sounds nice - do you have a recipe please?

It was very tasty and thick when whizzed up!

    I used:-

    1 x red pepper
    1 x cup red lentils
    1 x onion
    3 x carrots
2 x chicken oxo (had no stock)
    1 1/2 pints water

Just chopped it all and cooked on high for a few of hours and then low until served.....used a stick blender thingy to make it completely smooth so no veggies were detectable :o

I am sure ANY quantities would be fine - I don't usually use lentils but was trying to get more protein in......usually use butternut squash in it but didn't have any that day.

    Hi Sunnyday,

What ingredients do you use and what quantities for your dog food please?

Hi mlz, i use a large mug as a measure, into the sc goes 4 large carrots, topped & tailed and washed but not peeled, half a mug of brown rice, half a mug of red lentils and three quarters of a mug of pearl barley (all rinsed in a sieve until the water is clear) then i add either a tub of chopped ox heart which is about 90p from Morrisons or a pack of chicken pet mince from the market which is 25p for 4 packs.
You could just add a mug of any value mince. Pour on a full kettle of boiling water and stir but leave the carrots on the bottom, they take longer too cook so slice them thinly. Put the lid on and leave it to cook. About 8 hours on low You will probably need to add more hot water later as it swells a lot and it should be fairly sloppy.

I portion it up using a huge serving spoon or a ladel, 3 scoops to a tub (10 for £1 in the pound shop) cool then refridgerate or freeze. I put one in the bottom of the fridge to thaw each night and the following night i microwave on high for two to three mins then leave to cool until just warm and stir into any food thats left over from their morning feed or i pour over mixers or a couple of mugs of dried food. They go mad for it and its full of goodness. Make sure its heated properly and left to cool when you feed them not heated until just warm.

Sausage Casserole (from yesterday). I've used slightly cheaper sausages than normal, and its not as nice as it usually is, :( so back to using Tesco's finest for me.
