Soup in my sc today - carrot, lentil and red pepper.

Will whizz it up to make smooth in an attempt to get more veggies and protein into the family without them noticing! ;)
  • I have a bacon joint in my sc today together with 1kg of dried peas (soaked overnight) and 2 onions. I will have it with some mashed potato tonight and the rest will be frozen in one person sized portions for future use.

Lemon and herb chicken thighs. First time I've cooked anything other than curry and soup in it...hopefully it'll taste as good as it smells!
  • I`ve just used up some tired leeks, sliced in a good layer on the bottom, then some whoopsied braising steak that`s been a bit too long in the freezer, then some mushrooms that needed using up, poured a jug of : mixed herbs, hot water, stock cube, flour and dregs from a red winebox and bunged the lid on. Smelling lovely now!

Hmm - I didn't do too well today: I gave the osso buco treatment to some beef shin in the SC, thinking I'd get away with that, but it wasn't all that nice. Lesson learned. Now I need to think very hard how to recycle the half of it that wasn't eaten.

Got a kilo of turkey breast in Sainsburys for £4.99 so that's in the sc today and will end up as Turkey Curry - also planning hm onion bajee, hm Bombay potato, hm naan bread and hm mushroom bajee.

Have lots of potatos and onions left from last big shop so thought I'd try using them up today.......:D
