The dahl is all portioned up now and the sc is all nice an shiny and clean :D

I did put an extra tin of toms in but the resulting dish tasted dryer than usual IYKWIM, i think that its the garam masala which is a different one to what i normally use. Its a completely different colour and smell to the last one. Need to use it up and replace it i think as the old one was far nicer.

I think that the sc will probably have a night off tonight, it has earned its keep lately :D

I`ve just filled the crockpot of my sc and popped it into the fridge.

I`ll take it out later when i get home from work and turn it on overnight.

I`m making tomato dahl which is one of Weezl74`s fantastic recipes, not had this for ages so i`m really looking forward to it. its a very :money:recipe and very tasty too. I must admit to just throwing the ingredients in though and not browning anything first as is usual for moi :p

Today it's a random chicken thigh and chicken leg curry casserole thing. It's a mix of onions, tomatoes, curry powder, cayenne pepper, chilli flakes, and chicken stock!

I've not used my slow cooker for a while, but I've got a chilli in there at the mo, which I shall leave on low overnight.

    Hi,

My oven packed up on me the other day, so am having to use my slow cooker until I can get one of those halogen table top thingys. However, the chicken is a bit too big for my slow cooker & won't fit in horizontally, laid flat. It will fit in (wedged in tight with lid closed) placed in a just about to dive off a diving board position. Will it cook ok this way?

    Thanks

New to this - just thinking of getting a slow cooker and being inspred by all of these ideas. But can I ask - what is 'pet mince'?! My mind is boggling - mince made out of pets (we've got some rabbits which the kids might not miss...) or maybe the stuff they sell in the freezers at Pets at Home?

Pet mince is what i buy from the butchers for 40p per lb to feed the dog. Its all types of meat/offal/ and lord knows what that is sold only for the consumption by animals. I throw it in the SC with afore mentioned bits and pieces and cook up doggies dinners for next few days. Cheaper than commercial tinned dog food and i know exactly what has gone into it - no added nasties.
