Oh come on rubber chicken has been done to death on this forum and at times it has become so much of a competition I felt like I had stumbled into a four yorkshiremen sketch! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xe1a1wHxTyo

I haven't managed to make more than 6 meals from a chicken... usually 2 chicken+veg/potatoes and a 4-portion chicken pie. Either your chickens are huge or you eat very very little!!

Can you explain what you put with the chicken in the slow cooker..? I haven't been brave to try yet as I feel it will be a bit bland...

Bolognese on mine tonight! (first time!!)

I peel & cut in half 2 onions & carrots (which I cut lengthways) and pop the chicken on top then sprinkle chicken seasoning on top. I cook on low for about 7 hours.
I totally strip all the chicken, which is very easy as it just falls off the bone. We don't have big portions for each meal but we have an adequate amount for us.

On Saturday I cooked a whole chicken in my slow cooker & managed to squeeze 13 meals from it.
Saturday- 2 x chicken, mashed potatoes, veg & gravy.
Sunday-2 x HM chicken curry (I made a huge pan full bulking it out with butternut squash, roasted peppers etc) rice & pimped up nan bread.
I made enough to fill 2 tubs to freeze, each tub holding 2 portions.
Monday - 3 x the rest of the chicken heated up in a pan with gravy, mashed potatoes HM Yorkshire pudding & veg.
Tuesday - 2 x leftovers from last night.
I have to say I'm very proud of myself!
It now begs the question, how many meals can you get from a chicken?

Looking at how many meals you made from one chicken I think it should be re-named elastic chicken:rotfl:

I tried cooking a whole chicken yesterday, but it didn't come out very well, not sure what I did wrong... I had it with some onions and white wine for 9 hours on Medium, but the chicken wasn't that cooked at the end (in fact in the centre it was still red), and did not taste that great...

Maybe there's something wrong with my slow cooker?
