Maybe a Chinese style pork joint? With soy, honey, ginger, garlic, chilli (if you like heat) and 5 spice?
In my slow cooker today is a simple veggie curry for hubby and leftovers for freezer.
Me and DS are having veggie filled Yorkshire puddings and gravy :)

Nom nom -thats EXACTLY the kind of thing I was after thank you!

Another quesyion - casseroles- I know what veg and meat goes into them but how do you get all the sauce/gravy that they cook in?

    Hope that made sense? !

Chickpea, spinach and tomato curry in a coconut based sauce - everything except for the tomatoes is from the freezer/stock cupboard. Can't wait. Going to serve with freshly fried poppadums and chapattis.
  • Kashmir rogan josh lamb curry, to be served with basmati rice, fresh coriander, mango chutney and garlic and coriander mini naan breads.

;) Felines are my favourite ;)
  • Chicken chasseur with mixed veg :j

For a stew I just add stock, tom puree and maybe some gravy powder and it cooks and reduces down into gravy.
Or if you have the time dust the meat in seasoned flour and fry quickly before putting in the slow cooker :)

  • Hi all,
I have some smart price casserole beef in stock in mine. Smells amazing. BF doesn't eat any veggies, so the meat is done on its own and I do my own veg to have with mine (today I'm making creamy mash and mushy peas!)
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j
  • I bought a packet of 'Maggie' italian herb seasoning papers, which you wrap around a chicken breast a lightly fry... i flashed these for minutes to take off the seasoning and tossed them (minus the paper) in the slow cooker on low, will have with some roasties and veg later.... smelling yummy!:D

Had mine on this morning for a Barley Casserole and Dumplings. Pearl barley, chopped carrots, chopped onion, chopped celery, soy sauce, tomato puree and a bay leaf. Topped with self raising flour, veg oil, drop of vinegar and water mixture for the dumplings. On high for a couple of hours. Served with green beans cooked from frozen. Lovely and warming.

Thanks for sharing everyone - going to have a read back through the thread for further inspiration :)
Love and compassion to all x
