Anyone got any decent comfort dessert receipes. My DH is one to finish off with a pud, I don't.
Something that I can just bung in and leave would help
If you have left over bread butter both sides then spread on some jam cover with tin of evaporated milk and/or ordinary milk add sprinkle of sugar and sultanas and pop in oven for about 20mins nice and filling !

  • Cumberland pie which will be topped tomorrow with sliced potato and parmesan :)
  • My OH just bought me a massive slow cooker. Think you could fit a turkey in there. Looking forward to trying it and will look through the thread for ideas :)

YS stewing steak 1Kg, a tonne of root veg left over from the weekend (shopped for5/6 - not seen the teenage kids since LOL)

Looks like stew for dinner, with plenty for the freezer - I have loads of carrots, parsnips and potatoes still to use up - can anyone tell me if I can prep and freeze them raw, or would I have to part cook first?
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    spicy prawn and crab curry

fried an onion with garlic and lots of chilli paste, as well as 2 chopped leeks. put in to slow cooker and added half a big bag of frozen prawns, 3 tins of crab meat (from AF), a tin of chopped toms, ginger, chilli, black pepper and paprika. It has a thai/broth type feel to it!

Will serve with rice and top with slices of spring onion.

Will be left with lots of spicy broth I expect so will need to think of how I can use this up. Maybe noodle soup.
