Following on from the success of the blue berry pancake with lemon icing which I cooked in the slow cooker the other day, I've made up a James Martin Apple and sultana sponge (from Approved Foods) and am trying it out in my mini SC (1 hour on high) Will let you know how it goes..Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Wow! I make never steam sponge pudding again! This technique worked a treat! I used my little teeny tiny one person SC, which I thought wasn't big enough for anything and a waste of money, but it made this sponge just the right shape (I lined the crock with some bakin paper which I'd dampened to make it more pliable)Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Claregre, not butting in at all.
When you SC you do not need as much liquid as normal as the cooking process produces a lot of liquid. So I would say you are putting too much in. Also once you have everything in and mixed together you shouldn't have to stir it again, just switch on and leave. The joys of having a SC.
Have a look at this thread and the recipe collection thread I linked to earlier and enjoy.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

My own style keema curry.
Mince meat
Curry powder 2 tbs
Garlic
stock cube
1 tbsp tom puree
Thyme
one mug of water
left over veg- we had coulidlower/swede/peas/onion/carrot
rice
cook it all up and when mince and veg have cooked add rice and enough water normally works out 1 mug of rice = 2 mugs of water.
allow rice to cook and serve when its ready with naan.
It was lovely and none left, decided i wanted to save my chicken breast for another day and the mince needed eating as i buy the big pack from tesco for £2 and used half of it for spag and meatballs a few days ago.Trying to make big cut backs!!!

I had a lovely chilli in mine today but sadly its all gone now:p
I`ve just prepped the crock and popped it into the fridge where it can sit overnight and then i`ll replace it and cook on low whilst i`m at w*rk tomorrow. I`ve put in two huge lamb shanks with garlic, thyme and rosemary - just remembered i forgot the sliced onions so i`ll add those shortly
The whole house smelt gorgeous when i arrived home today, i`m surprised the dog wasn`t camped out next to the worktop
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
I have some duck bones in mine, with some sorry looking leek that was in the back of the fridge. Also half an onion & some herbs to make a stock to cook the beef in tomorrow. This will then be reduced & I'll add a touch of cream as gravy.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0
