Thanks for all the advice. Think I'll get her the 3.5 oval so she has the option of cooking everything. Are there any makes better than others or are they all pretty similar?
BTW been reading through some of the recipes, etc. and had no idea just how versatile these things are and might invest in one myself.0 -

Ive done this in the slow ccoker.. cooked a whole cabbage ( we grow them ) and froze the rest. It is a better dish warmed up the second day for some reason

I found a joint of beef at the back of the freezer that had been half price in M&S almost a year ago, that's been cooking nice and slow with onions and beef stock. Tried a syrup pudding yesterday, it took 5 hours on low, the verdict by the men of the house was "delicious".0
