    As requested :)

375g chicken thighs, chopped into nommable peices
    2 tablespoons tomato chutney
1 tablespoon mild indian curry paste
    2 teaspooons lemon juice
    1/2 teaspoon tumeric
    1.25 litres chicken stock
    1 onion, chopped
    1 potato, diced
    1 carrot, diced
    1 celery stalk, diced
    65g basmati rice

Bung it all in on high for 3-4 hours. Enjoy!

I got this from a book called Kitchen Classic slow cookers. I tend to use a stronger curry paste, since I like me some curry flavour :)

    Thanks :A
I`ve just copied it into my little document of recipes to try :D

When i make it i`d better take some round to Dad`s, if he finds out i`ve made it and not got any for him i`ll be in trouble lol Its his favourite too.

  • In my slow cooker overnight:

fancied doing a rice pud, but no pudding rice, so have improvised with some arborio rice and pearl barley!

    Should be interesting tomorrow! :D

  • Well I have eaten it now but it was a stew, also the stewing meat was reduced to £1.50 so I used two packs. Meat galore. Also used some potatoes that needed to go for mash.

Didnt put enough milk in, so was rather dry this morning, but extra milk resurrected it, was quite yummy!

Hope this is the best place to ask for advice on purchasing a slow cooker.

My daughter wants one for Xmas and I've tried looking at review sites and haven't found any that seem to be clear winners. There are 2 adults and 1 child (sometimes a 2nd child is there) so not sure they need the larger one, but I'm open to all suggestions on what's best as I'm totally clueless about them.

I think that its Aldi who are having slowcookers on special very soon, sorry can`t check as i deleted the email but you may be able to find the info on the website.

I have two - a smaller 3.5 litre one and a larger 6.5 litre one and there are only two of us at home. The larger one gets use most as i batch cook and freeze a lot. You can always half fill a larger one but if you need a bigger one then you can come unstuck when cooking a large chicken etc.

Oh and the oval shaped ones are better for fitting things into i find:D

I have some pork steaks and also some frozen carrots, sweet potato and pumpkin. Can I simply cook the steaks dry as it were, on top of the veg in my slow cooker or do I really need to add stock or sauce of some kind??

Got an oxtail stew going in my SC this morning..oxtail, diced onions, button mushrooms all browned in a bit of oil first, sliced carrots, cannellini beans, thyme, salt and pepper, worcestershire sauce and a squeeze of tomato paste.

Going to cook it for about 6 hours. Serve with mashed potatoes and green runner beans.
    :)

;) Felines are my favourite ;)
