  • I have a large piece of lamb neck fillet with onions, carrots, a small potato, tin toms, stock, herbs, and a bit of chilli powder. Using up odds and sods will hopefully be tasty!:)

Mines been on the go quite a bit recently, i`ve been using it to make chutney :D

It takes an awful lot longer than in a pan but i don`t have to stand over it for hours.

When its been in long enough and is all gloopy i turn it onto high and take the lid off to get the right consistency, sooo much easier!

I've got a coq au vin on the go at the moment, smells gorgeous, should be ready in about half an hour.

I have some multigawny soup in mine. I wish I'd set the timer to kick in sooner ... I'm starving now, and the smells are torturing me!

  • I love my slow cooker.
I cook fresh stocks, basic Beef Minces, rice pudding, to mention just a few. I don't use it exclusively as it takes too long and I have to get timing right but at the right time, with correct timing it is a godsend.:beer::beer::money:

I always make sure mine is on by 10am so that we can eat around 6pm!!! If I can't manage that for any reason then I make sure it's on by 2pm but put it in High rather than Low so again we can eat around 6pm.

    As requested :)

375g chicken thighs, chopped into nommable peices
    2 tablespoons tomato chutney
1 tablespoon mild indian curry paste
    2 teaspooons lemon juice
    1/2 teaspoon tumeric
    1.25 litres chicken stock
    1 onion, chopped
    1 potato, diced
    1 carrot, diced
    1 celery stalk, diced
    65g basmati rice

Bung it all in on high for 3-4 hours. Enjoy!

I got this from a book called Kitchen Classic slow cookers. I tend to use a stronger curry paste, since I like me some curry flavour :)
