I agree that this is definitely the courier's responsibility. You need to get in touch with the company you purchased from and tell them you expect a refund or replacements, and they can then recover their costs from the courier.
The courier should not be delivering your goods elsewhere without putting a card through telling you where they are. If he had done this correctly and you had been able to get them within 24 hours then they may have still been unopened.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Similar happened to my Dad. Downstairs neighbour took the parcel and never passed it on, even though a card had been put through saying where it had went, bla bla. He contacted the supplier and they sent him out a new item and then chased up the first parcel, police did make a visit to the house but we never found out if they recovered the first item.
Call the supplier back and tell them that the item has been received damaged (regardless of how it was damaged it is up to them to claim the delivery company) and you want a replacement.0 -
You cant be expected to bear the loss of this when it is no fault of your own. Id contact the courier firm again and also the supplier saying you arent paying for the goods as they did not arrive as ordered. They have no leg to stand on.
By all means involve the police if only for back up should you need it to claim the loss.
We had something similar with neighbour from hell. Id ordered urgent stationery supplies for next day delivery. Didnt come. I rang the supplier who rang me back next day saying the parcel had been delivered. Said not to me it wasnt. The driver apparently left it in a porch at the house next door as when my OH went out a week later, he turned round to get something he had forgotten to take just in time to see NFH dumping the opened parcel with damaged goods under our hedge and running off. Nothing we could do, honestly after years with a NFH you learn how weak the law is. The suppliers had already replaced the stuff and when we informed them the parcel had reappeared damaged they said just use what you can as a freebie.0 -
Yes but I paid in advance for the goods. I contacted the police yesterday, they gave me like a reference number? and said they will pay a visit to the lady. I was also informed to call the supplier and inform them what happened quoting that number, and they should send me another parcel. That's what the police guys told me so I hope there's a chance! I will be calling this afternoon, and let You know what they said.

The fact that you paid in advance doesn't make any difference what so ever.
You paid for goods that did not arrive - it's none delivery and as such you are entitled your money back or new parcel.0 -
I'm even more puzzled as to why when you have a Salon, you should have stock delivered to your home address. Most odd.Exactly, why wouldn't they deliver to one of the houses next to me, i have lovely neighbours on both sides and opposite. Why would they deliver to a filthy barn at the end of the street? (about 10 houses far).0 -

Fault is likely to lay with Citylink, because their contract or terms with the supplier will no doubt state they are NOT authorised to leave any parcels with neighbours (for exactly this reason), yet the OP has entered into an agreement with the original supplier and not Citylink.
How the supplier chooses to resolve it is up to them and clearly we don't know the details laid out in their courier contract. Citylink have no obligation to the buyer directly, thus I would be resolving this directly with the supplier.0
