I'm getting £16.88 net in my vantage at the end of the month and have the full £7k in it and topped it up by £1K during the month - is that the correct amount of interest?

that was correct for january, it varies each month depending on number of days. january was a 28 day month as far as the interest calculation goes..
  • Afternoon all,

Just wondering if anybody has had any recent experience of opening a Joint Current Account with Vantage or a Current account and then "adding" Vantage at a later date either in branch or over the phone.

My parents each have 3 x Vantage accounts - now all maxed out. My Mum applied for a 4th Current account online which it allowed her to do but she has since received a "Sorry, but not today" reply (expected) from Lloyds.

I've suggested they could look at a Joint Account as a way of getting an additional one - appreciate there have been other threads on this but, as above just wondering if anybody has played the game recently ?

My Mum wouldn't be paying Tax so it would also be a case of trying to get the interest 50:50 with an R85 or just foregoing that and claiming it back at the end of the tax year (which might be the eaiser option).

    Thanks for any info.

I was told in branch that each person is allowed to have three Vantage accounts, which may be either sole or joint. You cannot have three sole Vantage accounts plus one (or two or three) joint Vantage accounts.
R.I.P. Bart. The best cat there ever was.
  • I tried for another I have 3 + a joint one, opened them ages ago, got a letter saying sorry no more. Shame!

Not true, I have 4 sole Vantage accounts and another 3 joint created by my partner, then linked to me as recently as Autumn 2010.

That was initially allowed. They've cracked down on it more recently.

As I understand it you are only allowed 3 per person - up until last summer you were allowed 7

Managed to open my second vantage this week.

I applied for a second classic account, with in 24hrs it was set up. Took me a few tries to work out how to upgrade to vantage, kept getting the "silver" upgrade button. Thanks to a&akay in post 454 I used this method and all worked fine. The name didn't change to vantage so I renamed it my self.

I posted this separately as well as here. May not affect many but worth being aware:

Save you accessing the link, but if you want to add anything specifically relevant to it please do:

Like many others on here I have multiple (more than 3) Vantage accounts. Yesterday I got a call from one of the Lloyds Nazi women (you know the jobsworth types, nowt better to do than poke nose in...) who eventually claimed she'd called to see if she could offer some 'advice' on the relatively large sum that had just hit my Vantage account, but she opened with "this is just a heads up: you are not allowed more than 3 Vantage accounts T&Cs etc;, there could be a sweep and those extras could be closed; it'll not be'cos I've done anything etc it just may happen.." Yeah, right.

If you have many more than the three & you have a choice, it may be worth avoiding biggish sums hitting your Vantage accounts and attracting attention. I dont know what level the radar is set at; I dont think £20k will attract attention, but I know £50k will.
