    No luck upgrading my spare Classic Account to a 4th Vantage yet :(. Any tips please?!

    Thanks

    when did you last try? if its been a while, try to do it online, failing that call into a branch, the worst that can happen is a refusal.

    Tried in two branches, last tray was yesterday. Also when I click "Upgrade" online I get the following message:
    Sorry, but we can't offer you this product right now. Please call us on 0845 3 000 000 if you'd like to speak to someone about this.

    I get this message when trying in working hours too.

    Does it just come down to finding a assistant that doesn't twig that you already have the maximum of three?

    Thanks

    I had to ring for one of mine, but the guy was helpful and processed it in minutes.:)

    Thanks buddy, I'll ring every day and until someone upgrades it, I'll post up on here once I've succeeded :)

    :) or resign yourself to the fact that you can only have 3;)

  • I'll keep trying :), I'm going to change the name of my accounts online so that they don't have "Vantage" in the name, it may help me or may not, I have no idea what the telephone assistant can see
  • Hi all, fantastic thread! At the moment I only have two Vantage accounts. I have one maxed at £7000 (named "Vantage 2") and another with roughly £3000 in (this is the account I use for all my direct debits and where my wage is paid into (named "Vantage 1")).

    I've set up the following standing orders to transfer £1000 on the 1st of each month.

    Vantage 2 (Balance = £7000) -> Vantage 1 (Balance = £3000 +/- roughly)
    Vantage 1 (Balance = £3000 +/- roughly) -> Vantage 2 (Balance = £7000)

    Is this correct? Do Lloyds TSB not mind that you have £1000 leave your account the same day that £1000 enters? Does this not cancel the £1000 requirement to be paid in each day? Should I set each transfer up on two separate days?

    At the moment you have £7k earning 4% gross AER and £3k earning a lower rate (£10k in total). Have you thought about transfering £2k form Vantage 2 to Vantage 1 giving you 2 a/cs with £5k in each ? They still pay 4% on amounts between £5k and £7k don't they ? If you did that, you would have the max rate paid on £10k rather than the present £7k.
    I know we're only talking a few bob but some shop chain keeps telling me, "Every little helps."
