ds off school again:mad: they rang just as we were putting shoes on at 8h30:mad:don't know how they think parents will react to this. Am so glad I don't work on a wed as my school is shut too, except for those doing exams. Yet more childcare for people to pay for with no warning at all.
anyway rant over, stay safe everyone and dont use your car unless you have too.
Turkolina i lost my mum to cancer 6 years ago when i was 29. You will feel angry, numb, ripped apart for a while but then it does ease. It will come back at strange moments when you are least expecting it. I find new year hard, her birthday, mothers day and my childrens birthdays hard as she never met them and I know she would have been an ace grandmother. give yourself time to grieve. :kisses3:

Off to post 1 to check my list and earn some stars.

We've had significant snowfall overnight and it's still snowing. I've been listening to the radio to check for school closure, but nothing. Looks like our school is the only one open in town(!).

In fairness, we did venture out, got down the road and decided to come back. As it's a 3/4 of a mile walk and it's still belting down I was a bit concerned that I'd drop her off, get home and then get a call to pick her up. There's no way I'm taking the car anywhere today. School is still allegedly open, so I'll probably have to write a note tomorrow

Flying-wise, I'll be doing the bathroom/study as per the list. I've also got a bit of decluttering to do around the place, and DDs room of doom needs another half hour's worth of work today. Might dig out a DVD for her while I do that (or even give her the rare treat of watching Cbeebies).

Anyway, hope everyone is OK? Hugs to anyone who needs one.
    Take care and keep warm.
    D
(who's hoping the snow will turn to rain very soon).

Morning all. No snow here, just a fair bit of rain but it seems a different picture inland. Be careful out there ladies.

A different picture on the coast here! We have had snow overnight and it's been snowing on and off since I got up.

School is closed as they've had even more snow up there so I've made all my phone calls. Am fed up with the snow and not being able to go out - driving around here wasn't fun yesterday so I'm not going out on snow covered slush and ice!

turkolina - huge hugs and prayers; that poem is lovely. Remember your mum will always be with you x

rach - hope the ankle isn't too painful today x

I have put some washing on and had brekkie so am now going to do some work.

ETA - I was going to do some work but my school stuff is still in the car
