Have a new Dyson Animal. Hoovered the living room, family room & hall again today just for the hell of it. Can't believe how much extra it picked up than my old dc05:eek:

Are they expensive Jackiewhizz??? Mine is old and picks up nothing, and will eventually need to admit defeat and get a new one. Im wondering if its worth going the whole hog and getting a decent one instead of a cheapy 'that will do for now' job?

Am home from work and am going to try and do a HHC before I have to pick up DS.

    Any joiners?? 16.30 - 17.00??

Toochoosey, yes, this is the housefairy where you pay - think it's £12 but tbh her room is such a state if this works it'll be £12 well spent. I'll have to keep you posted! As for the 'other side', my depression makes me a bit paranoid so if I feel like I'm invisible that's why.

Wilf, wow - 9 at home! I think it's hectic with 4 (and 1 noisy dog) sometimes - all respect to you!

Almost fell over a few times fetching DD as it seems a lot more slippery now the snow is starting to thaw. I'm out tonight and my walking boot is still wet from earlier on so I've plonked it on the radiator and hope it'll dry out - otherwise I'll be sat for hours with the hairdryer on!

The kitchen is looking very tidy now and I am feeling quite proud. I definitely am verging on scarey as I'm looking forward to tomorrow's list :o

jo, is it not snowing with you yet?

Mumof2, we did have a look at the photos of best rooms and she was impressed....her room is not too bad but she needs constant reminding to put things away....it's getting better as she likes to do the hoovering and things need to be picked up off the floor and put away in order to do it!!!

Ohhh Toots - I'll have a Tuesday star when either of us has a moment

soappie there's a great documentary on iplayer about the domestication of dogs, called "The secret lives of dogs" well worth a peek.

I found this on iplayer and played it on the laptop whilst I did the kitchen so I mostly listened rather than watched. But I did find it very interesting - thanks for pointing it out.

Having achieved a squeaky clean kitchen, I'm now going to declutter a few more words from my head

I don't know what they charge - but they've told me that they'll do them if they take them down there. I used to work as a chef and we took our knives to the butcher regularly for regrinding. I just have to work out how to get them there without getting into trouble for carrying knives :p. I have an electric grinder, but it makes the blades very fat in the long term.

I managed to get a bit of shopping done in scats on the way back from reflexology - a couple of pairs of thick walking socks, two pairs of gardening gloves, and ecover laundry liquid refill pack and a proper winter walking jacket (a two-layer one) in bright pink reduced from £140 to £60 :D). There were hardly any wellies left in the shop, no shovels... I need to go back when I have some time and pick up more outdoor clothing, kindling, coal etc.
