When you reach your Target weight, you become a Gold member and can attend meetings for free ( a minimum of 5 times a year and stay within 5 lbs of your agreed weight. When I worked out my points, I realised that on Maintenance I went up from 17 - 18 points.

ah right, i understand now-i know about goal members, but not so much about maintenance-when you reach a goal weight is there a formula to work out how many points you should be on to maintain? i'm always confused about that part, as surely if you're on low points, you'll keep losing, whereas if you go way up points again you'll put on-it confuses me!

I think it`s a bit like when you start WW and you work out daily activity, whether you are sedentary etc, age and you then tot up your points. This is roughly the same. As far as I can work out, you have to work out what works for you.

I wish I could stick to the diet

I might actually lose some weight then :(

    Any advice?
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last

Don't think of it as a diet, it's a lifestyle change, if you think of it as a diet, then there will be an end date, you'll go back to old habits and put the weight back on. Think of it as a lifestyle change and you'll be more likely to succeed.

I agree - don't think of it as a diet! Personally, I think of it as a challenge as well as a lifestyle change. For example, this evening, DH had some simnel cake, I had 2 ricecakes with marmite plus a ww yogurt - and I thought how much food I had in comparison, but mine was 2 points in total, and how many points would 2 slices of simnel cake be? Or compare one mars bar, which I think is about 7 points to how much of a meal you could have for the same. Anyway, it works for me - comparing a huge amount of healthy food to the alternative. That's how I look at it anyway.

  • Hello.

    Please may I join :)

I joined WW online in September last year weighing 15 stone 6lb. I got down to about 13 st 2lb but lost motivation after Christmas. Finally joined a class 2 weeks ago to kick start me and last week I weighed 13 stone 8.5lb.

My goal weight is 11 stone. I have a monthly pass so I get access to online as well so am happy to help with points and things.

Not sure if anyone has posted this but if anyone wants to know how to work points out its (calories divided by 70) PLUS (sat. fat divided by 4).

Should have gone today but I feel dizzy and sick and suspect I have a water infection. Couldn't get in at the docs but they told me to take a wee sample down to be tested which I did. Results tomorrow.
