I feel for you indierocker85. The three items I picked up today were just fabulous buys, I could easily have re-sold them with a £50.00 profit.

    Only trouble was:-

    1. BMX bike was great, so amazing that DS decided that he wanted it, as it was far better than his own bike (which has no re-sale value, but was adequate). This was not my intention but dear son won.

    2. Baby equipment was also amazing value for money, but dear friend got wind of it and is snapping it up for her new childminding business. I haven't got the heart to charge her as she has been really good to me in the past.

So I think that makes me -£8.50 for the day. But a lot of goodwill created .

I suppose I should adjust my signature. Stick with it indierocker .......

well i am envious of having a site designed with checkout etc

perhaps you can purchase cheap fishing supplies, lines, hooks etc (i know nothing about fishing but I think those are used ha ha) if you can buy wholesale you could build up a range of items? however, that is still putting money where your mouth is.

you say you are into arts and crafts but what kind? was it yourself said you could design t-shirts? a personalised t-shirt business, specialising in hen/stags etc? (or at least use that as a marketing ploy)

take advantage of what is current and use that? for eg: a huge major concert, like V etc, but you could do a novelty one...No...I never went to V in 2010 so sod off!!! (ok, not a great example, but hope you get the just)

if it is not t-shirts you do as i may be getting confused with other posts, what do you like doing in arts and crafts? we may have ideas? or not?

Well, halfway through the first month I feel its time for an update:

As you can see from my Sig I am have £196.37 of my £10,000 so far :)

I have also set myself targets for each month, starting at £250 for Jan and increasing by £125 each month thereafter.

My Ebay sales have brought in about £60 and I found just a bit less than £40 in an old account which is now the account I will use to keep track of things. The rest has been though Matched Betting

Matched Betting has got to be my biggest source of income but I have already done most of the available offers so looking out for reloads, and helping my wife do the nicer bookies that allow more than one account per household.

I have also had a great response from people wanting help with their matched betting and we have built up a nice group of about 15 people who I send out mini guides to get them started.

If anyone else is considering Matched Betting and would like help, please do not hesitate to PM me. Also, anyone who hass asked for help and is not recieving emails from the group I set up please PM me as I am not convinced everything is 100% with YahooGroups!

Lastly, I would like to thank YukkiBear for offering to be my Challenge Buddy, we are going to keep each other focused and hammer through this £10K in no time!

    Cheers all

A friend has offered to make me a full e-commerce website, with a checkout and everything, all I need to do is pay for a domain name and find something to sell. But the question is what? My hobbies are fishing, arts and crafts, but arts and crafts are so expensive, and I aint even sure what i could make.

Can anybody help or make any suggestions?

what about flies? i know nothing about fishing but am aware some can be quite expensive, do you have fishing shops/ponds around what about selling there, just an idea,
doesnt have to be ebay/web based - fishing lessons? tart it up as a stress buster - cool calm running water, just you and nature blah blah blah, childrens lessons?

arts & crafts - what kind, what do you make just now? and i'll try and think of other ideas that incorporate your skills. Are you outgoing? what type of area do you live in?

  • Indierocker85 you said you liked fishing, do you know a lot about the equipment needed for fishing? You could maybe sell fishing equipment if you do. I would start on ebay first if there is a market for it. Don't expect people to flock to your site to purchase goods straight away maybe have your ebay listings feed onto your website. Look into SEO for the website when you are earning unless your friend knows how to do it and will do it for free because it can be v expensive but worth its weight in gold.

ewll done on your fantastic progress betmunch, and am sure your help is gratly appreciated by your group.

I too feel it may be nice to have a buddy, someone perhaps to do odd car boot with, setting up next to each other etc, looking out for bargains in the area, but no one else seems to be from the wrexhsam area. Not to worry though, i get so much support form here, and my OH is all for me to be the next best entrepenaur, he also markets himself as the next richard branson, we both have a long way to go yet though.
Thanks to all who post comps :T

  • I did do my research, and the completed listings showed they were selling for £3.99 each.

The point is I have sold over £70 worth of stuff yet why am I still in negative?

It's only a guide, remember, but they may still sell. Where does the figure of £70 come from? Do you mean you've been paid that amount? If so, deduct fees, purchase costs etc ... it's not pure profit. As for getting rich quick, now that isn't going to happen so forget wishful thinking or you'll wish the year away and then wonder why you've got nowhere. Branson didn't become a billionaire overnight, so let's adopt some Bransonesque thinking and recognise that there's one thing we cannot do without to make money - TIME.

SCROOGE - what goes around - comes around, so well done for putting others first as in a challenge like this money can become all consuming:T

ooops and i type to fast,a lso tired, which allows for so many mistakes, gonna do a runner before amber the proof reader gets her whip out again.

night all, hope you get some good ideas indie :)
Thanks to all who post comps :T

  • Indie - T shirts is an excellent idea! I think you should look into that. Most arts and crafts are very hard to get into, as there is so, so much competition, but t shirts sounds pretty original, especially if you have your own site!

Let us know how you get on, I might be interested in some, my freinds only wear unique tops and theres loads of birthdays soon!
